President Bush Is So Not Getting a Good Deal on Sherry Lane Place Office Space

Bloomberg's story concerning President Bush's new office digs in Preston Center -- first in Berkshire at Preston Center, before he moves into a larger space at Sherry Lane Place -- contains an note of interest toward the end. But first, this relevant aside: Says here that taxpayers will pay $38.95 per square foot in Sherry Lane Place. Yet space is currently available in the office tower for "$24.25 per square foot - plus Electric." Does this mean Bush is about to raise the area's office market price? Bloomberg?

[Dan Fasulo, managing director of Real Capital Analytics Inc.] said he doubts Bush's moving to Dallas will boost rents in that city.
"Bill Clinton took office space in Harlem and he hasn't done anything to the office market up there," Fasulo said. "I presume Bush would have the same minimal impact."

I just hope Bush takes the time to read Sherry Lane Place's tenant handbook. Could be handy when he needs to know where the deli is.

Yes, we are having server issues -- have been for three weeks, during which I've vociferously complained to the higher-ups about the issue. I've been told this will be resolved this week -- and I feel the pain, as it also takes five to 10 minutes for items to appear after I've posted them, and edits likewise take forever to appear. No one is more annoyed than I, trust me. When you read this in an hour or so, you'll understand.
<i>Why are all my posts not appearing?</i> Betheny, it's probably because the Unfair Park servers are 200 MHz Pentium II boxes with 64 MB of RAM, running Windows 3.1, with cross-server synchronization done by one drunken carrier pigeon. Seriously, I know I just griped about this the other day, but the whole sluggish-posting / server-sync thing is really, really annoying, and these are pretty basic issues for any multiple-server web site with dynamically updated content.

Its pretty clear from what we have seen in the last 8 years along with his time with the Texas Rangers (his only successful business venture) that President Bush loves spending other people's money.
