• First of all, not to be mean, but Laura Bush has about as much life and personality as a stone or rock. Let's face it, she's a nice lady, but as for being is such a high position, she's been out to lunch. And as far as Bush, no amount of history rewriting can conceal how he took a generally prosperous and cohesive country (with a budget surplus) and ran it into the ground. God bless Bush???!? What drugs are you taking? There certainly is no proof to back that up. Quite the contrary. God gave up on Bush when Bush gave up on God, which either took place before the start of his "presidency" or very early in. God will not endorse or be apart of greed, corruption, initiating unnecessary wars (especially for profit), bigotry, grabbing for power, lying, hiding information from the public, and hundreds more sins.

As for Dubya..thank God that idiot is out of office in a few days. 5,00 families now have had their Christmases ruined by him,due to their personal loss and his ineptness.

• Anonymous, Future presidents typically move into Blair House the NIGHT before they are inaugurated. In fact, the Obamas are moving in TONIGHT, five days early. What they wanted to do was move in weeks early. Howard was not the only one booked. There are many guests and events that were scheduled there. Frankly, this is not a big deal. The Obamas have been staying at the Hay Adams Hotel and Barack and W have been transitioning power just fine.

• The police records detailing Laura Bush's car crash that killed her ex-boyfiend have mysteriously disappeared from Midland County. Kinda like George W.'s National Guard records. Joe Allbaugh and Karen Hughes did a heckuva job cleaning up those messes.

• Laura killed a young man while driving. Human Being, actually the Australian PM Howard was NOT scheduled in Blair House when the Obamas submitted their request. Blair House is secure and typically reserved for incoming Presidents. Blair House is across the street from the White House, and has 100 rooms. It is a shame that the Obamas were forced to rent out the entire floor of a hotel, which wasn't previously secured by the Secret Service as is Blair House. ROB, the Occupying power is responsible for the security of the country. That Bush, Cheney and Rummy sought to do it on the cheap, ignored early signs of chaos and disorder further bears on our shoulders. So sorry ROB remember RULE OF LAW? Under RULE OF LAW Bush is responsible for that illegal invasion. There was NO UN authorization for invading. That was pure Bushy opportunism.

• I still want to know who Laura Bush murdered and why and where. And when she was tried and convicted for it. And where she spent her time for the crime. Or if she was acquitted. And for what reason.

• Code Red, do the 1998 embassy bombings not count as attacks on the homeland in your world? Girls on Ebay, so if somebody smoked 20 years ago, they are a chainsmoker today? Even if they still were one, who cares? Obama smokes to this day, as is his right. Also, the White House residences had scheduled guests up to the inauguration. The idea that the Bushes intentionally kept the Obamas out just to keep their children from somehow going to school is idiotic. Frankly, your whole slam on Laura Bush is as pathetic and irrelevent as this one: you can't spell.

That's a classic Daily Kos / Michael Moore style talking point that originated from the oft-discredited article in the Lancet that claimed that "100,000 Iraqi civilians have died in the Iraqi war." And whatever number were killed, the vast majority have died due to the acts of Islamic fundamentalists, not American forces. As for your overheated hyperbole like "the most corrupt administration in the history of the world," how exactly do you prove or disprove that? It's as if I said, "Bill Clinton was the sleaziest President ever" or "Ringo was the coolest Beatle" -- those are opinions, not statements of fact. You do understand the difference between a fact and an opinion, right?

• Sadly the attack the messenger tatic no longer works. That went out the door with Bush's integrity. Tell me what part of what I said was wrong. You can't! It is the truth. He lead the most corrupt administration in the history of the world. Although, I do hear the Laura Stepford has a heckuva china set. I hope Jane got a good look at it. Meow! • Code Red, I'm sure that you and all the other Bush-haters would have been even more fervent in your support of the war if we had initially sent in an additional 100,000 troops, right? Sure, in hindsight that's what should have been done, but please don't pretend that the haters ever wanted Bush to do anything but fail. And I'm not talking about the lame Bush-defender parodies.

Another was deported to Jordan, where he was tried and found innocent (imagine my surprise). Four other were convicted. But my point is that it was treated as an isolated criminal act -- no action was taken against the terror network behind the bombing.

• ROB, we seem to agree on the major points. New Yorkers certainly regard the 1993 attacks on par with 9-11. And even though the Clinton administration repeatedly warned the Bush administration that an attack was imminent and Richard Clark wrote a series of memos about Al Qaeda, Bush himself should not be faulted for 9-11 because he was rightly preparing to attack a country that was not a threat to us. Another thing too I wanted to defend Bush on. Our president often gets criticized for firing a series of generals and advisors who predicted that he Iraq war would require hundreds of thousands of troops and would be a lot more costly and violent than his administration predicted: Well, what was Bush supposed to do? Those predictions were absolutely outlandish and anyone responsible for such crazy guess work should no longer be in a position of great influence.

But please do go on. I'd like to hear exactly what the Clinton adminstration did to prevent terrorist attacks. I know about the tent that they blew up with a cruise missile. What else?

• MM, just because Richard Clarke specifically and repeatedly addressed the threat of Al Qaeda and just because the Clinton administration, having prevented a major terrorist attack on the homeland for eight years, and just because Bush was on his ranch in Crawford when he continued to receive official warnings about an attack, doesn't that Bush wasn't vigilant and deft at protecting our country.

• Code Red, after the decisive military action that Clinton took against Al Qaeda following the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, culminating in the capture and execution of Osama Bin Laden, it wasn't felt that there was a need to warn the incoming administration, since they had already effectively addressed the terrorist threat.

• Bush is always unfairly criticized here. Let's not forget that the Clinton administration never warned him about Al Qaeda and that they also left him with staggering deficits.

I'm not a lock stock and barrel Bush supporter, he did screw up our economy, Katrina, Iraq and many other things but I think he deserves our respect.
