KXAS-Channel 5 has wisely -- nay, brilliantly -- posted the entirety of Jane McGarry's sit-down with President Bush. You know how sometimes, 10 minutes isn't long enough? This is one of those times. A question, though: What is she saying at the start of the video? And what does it mean?
Update: For some Friends of Unfair Park, the video goes into autoplay mode whenever they refresh the page, which is why I've moved the video to the jump. Besides, it gives me a reason to run this screengrab taken near the end of the love-in.
She clearly said "white man", not "light man" as someone is trying to fabricate. We all see through the fairy tale that has no reference.
I've never understood this "Bush kept us safe for 7 years" b-s. How come no Republicans congratulated Clinton for not allowing any more attacks on the homeland after the 1993 WTC bombing? Additionally, there have been MORE terrorist attacks world-wide since 9/11 and that's a direct result of Bush's war on terrot tactics in Iraq (Abu Graib, etc).
Answer: Al Queda doesn't run conventional wars. They waited from '93 to '01 to hit the WTC again. They may well be playing the waiting game again after 9/11.
So, let's stop this "Bush kept us safe" meme, please.
Dear Religion of Bacon
Yes, I know I have mentioned my love for George and Laura Bush many times before.
But can there ever be too much love for a man who has done so much?
Also, it was your brilliance that brought me to this new found conclusion. So I thank you and I thank Ms. McGarry for one of the best exit interviews I have seen with President Bush as of yet.
There seems to be quite a personal bond between Jane and W. When he talks about looking forward to returning to Dallas, he seems to be sending her a message.
I was remarking that 12 comments had come and nothing really anti-bush and really not much after. I know there are others out of defensiveness that bemoan the Bush haters. Well, me thinks you protest too much.
Brett is right. The first words in the interview weren't "white man". It was "light man", referring to what Bush called himself while decorating the Christmas tree right after he was elected Governor.
Always like to see your comments!
Other than 9-11...
"Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?"
I do think Bush deserves a lot more credit for keeping up safe in seven out of eight years of his presidency.
Other than 9-11, he had the same record as his predecessor.
ouch. i think everyone's bush is stinging a little after that little tirade.
Yes Jack, we got your joke about 10 takes ago. Ha ha.
Yes, I agree with Scott. This Bush bashing has gotten out of hand. This man kept this country safe for the last 7 years. He has taught us compassion and won a war. Thanks to him Iraq is now a free country. He stood strong in the face of adversity. He is, what I like to think of as a man's man.
If it makes you feel any better Scott, I think most of the Bush bashing, or Bush Dereangement Syndrome as Fox News calls it, is just on this blog. I haven't seen it on any other blog or website. All we can do is pray for the souls of those who don't understand.
God Bless George W. Bush.
Welcome Home Mr. President!
I agree Scott. The man is still our President, he deserves respect and will always get it. One of the best Presidents America has ever had.
Your audio problems will be fixed.

this Bush bashing to all too much. Stop it already, gosh, such venom.
Her voice comes out of my right speaker and his comes out of my left...inneresting...
I would have much, much preferred to see McGarry's Bush.
<had to be done>
It sure sounds like she's saying "white man", but it's actually "light man" and here 'tis the explanation -
Jenna must have been about 13. The Bush family was living in Preston Hollow and her father, George W. Bush, had just been elected Governor of Texas. It was around Christmas, there were boxes all over the house as they prepared to move, and the newly elected Governor was helping decorate the Christmas tree. He was stringing the lights and jokingly referred to himself as the light man.
I was just surprised I was the first one to point it out. It was the first thing I thought of when I saw the headline.
I wanta be there when Bethany gets Wilonsky's 'prize'; A gift certificate for two tubes of *Su Pela es Mio* depilatory.
Bethany, I think I have a prize for you somewhere ...
Dear FOF:
I think Jane got the interview because she's already reported on bush.

Jane's next interview: Snoopy Dog.
I am not having the autoplay problem. But I am moving the video to the jump, in case others are as well.
Is there a way to turn off the auto-play on the video above? Darn thing keeps playing every time I come to the page.
"It's been a long time since the white man."
It think it has something to do with Jane's personal life.
Jane would be perfect for Fox News. Seriosly.
............and come on, we all know Bush is white, look at how he handled Katrina.
She should have asked some tougher questions. For example, does he have a Carly box?
