Where's the Action, Jackson?

Categories: Fashion

The "Jackson" in question is Gary Jackson, concierge at Barney New York's NorthPark outpost, who was profiled a year ago by our former colleague Ann Zimmerman in The Wall Street Journal. His name pops up today in the Houston Chronicle, where he offers "An ultimate insider's guide to Dallas." Because, after all, "He knows where the beautiful people eat, rest and play and is skilled at bringing a 'random list of lovelies'' together for fun in the Big D. Though he won't drop names, he shares champagne and sushi with A-list celebrities." (Random List of Lovelies -- first in our ongoing series of suggested book titles.) Guess his No. 1 shopping choice in town. Just guess. Go 'head. --Robert Wilonsky

Ok, am I the only one that can't find Gary's website?  If anyone knows Gary, tell him that I would love to help him "get found."  I will bet he has missed out on some serious business.  Do anyone know his URL or anything?  Thanks.

Vapid. Beyond vapid. If that exists. In Dallas, I'm sure it does.

Huh. And all along I thought I was somebody in Dallas. Guess not.

Big Guy, my 5-year-old has a better site than the DMN.

Anyway... "He knows where the beautiful people eat, rest and play and is skilled at bringing a 'random list of lovelies'' together for fun in the Big D. Though he won't drop names, he shares champagne and sushi with A-list celebrities."

How does that do anything to correct the seemingly majority opinion that Dallas is the center of the universe when it comes to superficiality and vanity?

Not to be tooooooooo nit-picky -- but, isn't the Belmont over in even scarier West Dallas?

No one that would recommend Sprinkles Cupcakes is going to have the balls to venture into "scary" Oak Cliff for a drink at the Bellmont.

I'm calling bullshit.

The Big Guy would also like to point out that even the Houston paper had a much better website than the DMN

The Big Guy avoids malls like Sarah Palin avoids drag bars, however The Big Guy found himself a year ago at Northpark, in Barney's, to just look around.

The Big Guy has spend most of The Big Guy's life around retail stores, so The Big Guy was extremely impressed with the staging, lighting, textures, fixtures and selection at the store.

Though the store carries nothing in The Big Guy's size, it was an amazing presentation.

The Big Gus and The Big Guy's wife(who has no authorized "nom de Parc Injuste") were lucky enough to spend a few minutes talking to Gary about the store, about NYC, about Dallas, and just shooting the shit.

Even though The Big Guy and The Big Guy's wife were ragged out after a day of errand running, we were still treated with respect and courtesy.

Barney's, and Dallas, is lucky to have some one like Gary.

" Shinsei, 7713 Endwood"

Good luck finding that address in your GPS. Jackson must be sooooooo upset.
