A Friend of Unfair Park sends along this story out of Fort Worth concerning the Star-Telegram's likely collaboration with rival The Dallas Morning News. Says Startlegram exec editor Jim Witt: "There is absolutely no intention of diluting the powerful individual brands of these two papers. We just want to find some common sense ways to work together to save money." Which prompts our Friend to wonder this, among other things, "Seriously, why can’t newspapers figure out that the Internet is their friend, and, in fact, they are their own worst enemies?" Romenesko has Bob Mong's memo. --Robert Wilonsky
