SMU Begs Fans to Arrive to Football Games, Like, Before Kick-Off, M'kay?

Categories: Sports

SMU would like to get more folks to come to football games. And since losing doesn't appear to be working, the university today announced several in-game changes to begin this Saturday, when the Mustangs host Texas State. Among the add-ons: "extensive use of replay board; live scoring updates; use of a roaming sideline reporter and increased involvement from the Mustang Maniac student group." Revolutionary. But, really, the best line from the announcement comes in the first paragraph: "To encourage fans to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to kickoff, SMU has created a new pre-game ceremony that features the Mustang Band, Mustang spirit groups, and musician Robert Lee Kobb." Ten minutes? That's asking a lot. --Robert Wilonsky
