Mark Stepnoski, Lou Grant Looking to Smoke Out 9/11 Conspiracy

Mark Stepnoski

About six years back, Our Boss Man wrote about former Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Mark Stepnoski's efforts to play on grass as the then-newly installed president of Texas NORML -- you know, the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws. Which, turns out, was only the tip of the smoldering iceberg for the five-time Pro Bowler and two-time Super Bowl champ, because this a.m. comes news that Stepnoski's teaming up with the likes of Ed Asner and lawyer and author William Pepper to collect 30,000 signatures that just might force New York City to once more investigate the events of September 11, 2001. (Among their wishes: putting George Bush and Dick Cheney under oath.) The group has till September 4 to get the signatures; New York says they're but 5,000 short of submitting their petition to the city council, which will then roll it up and smoke it. --Robert Wilonsky
