Don't Call Us: Dallas Jury Rules Against AT&T in Discrimination Case

Lily Tomlin, way back when there was only one phone company, summed up its attitude toward customer service best: “We don't care. We don't have to. [snort] We’re the phone company!”

Well, AT&T may have some competition these days -- sorta, kinda -- but Dallas lawyer Stephen W. Drinnon claims the old attitude still reigns when it comes to dealing with workplace discrimination. Drinnon represented Lakecious Edwards, an employee at the AT&T service center in Arlington who this week won $411,339 jury verdict in Dallas County against the telecom giant. (We tried to get a response from Dallas-based AT&T about the case. No luck.)

Edwards claimed that AT&T repeatedly denied her a promotion on account of race -- apparently she talked too “fast” was her supervisor’s explanation -- created a hostile work environment and retaliated against her for complaining.

Drinnon tells Unfair Park that AT&T has a unique way of dealing with discrimination complaints: Refer the complaints to a third-party vendor via an 800 number, then essentially ignore them. Don’t always tell the person accused of discrimination about the complaint. Don’t share the outcome of a company investigation with the complainant. Tell the alleged victim to keep mum. Let enough time pass -- 180 days from the date of the discriminatory act in state court, 300 days in federal, he says -- and guess what? It’s too late to file a lawsuit, thanks to corporation-friendly laws that set a short time frame for filing. (The law also strictly limits the amount of damages a victim of discrimination can receive.)

Brilliant. Cynical but brilliant.

Drinnon says the AT&T supervisor charged with “monitoring” the supervisor in Edwards’ case wasn’t even clear on what the word “monitor" meant. The company's anti-discrimination system was set up, he claims, to give the appearance that AT&T was actively combating workplace discrimination, when it was essentially a sham.

Ironically, you’d think an AT&T employee would know better than to expect service from calling an 800 number.

Dallas Jury: AT&T Created Hostile Environment for Minority Employee at Arlington Call Center

The Drinnon Law Firm announces $411,339.00 jury verdict following nine internal racial discrimination complaints

DALLAS - A Dallas County jury awarded $411,339.00 to an AT&T call center employee this week after finding that race was a motivating factor in the company's repeated failure to promote her. Additionally, the jury agreed that AT&T had created a hostile work environment and retaliated against her when she complained.

The lawsuit filed by AT&T sales representative Lakecious Edwards is one of nine complaints by employees at an AT&T office located 20 miles west of Dallas. Attorney Stephen Drinnon of The Drinnon Law Firm represents the employees and says one lawsuit stemming from the complaints has settled, and one remains active.

According to court testimony, Ms. Edwards, an eight-year veteran AT&T employee, was passed over on three separate occasions for promotions that went to Caucasian employees, two of whom were under disciplinary review. When another job opening was posted, the manager intentionally told other AT&T managers that Ms. Edwards wasn't interested in the job. The unfair treatment grew worse after she filed an internal complaint about her treatment.

Mr. Drinnon presented evidence showing that AT&T encouraged employees to quietly file complaints internally rather than to the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Center but performed little, if any, investigation. In Ms. Edwards' case, the manager named in the complaint was not interviewed by investigators or reprimanded for her actions. AT&T ultimately ruled "no finding of discrimination" for all 9 complaints and closed them without notifying the employees.

"Ms. Edwards and her coworkers suffered pervasive discrimination and did everything they could to work within AT&T's system," Mr. Drinnon says. "Because of the company's refusal to take these complaints seriously, these loyal employees were forced to seek justice through the courts."

Mr. Drinnon also presented evidence that despite AT&T's publicity campaigns touting its commitment to a diverse workplace, employees and managers received little or no training in workplace diversity issues. Evidence also showed that the same procedures to respond to internal complaints of racial discrimination that failed in Arlington are followed throughout the AT&T organization.

"We're pleased that independent jurors saw this company's reprehensible conduct for what it was," Mr. Drinnon says. "We hope that this verdict sends a message to AT&T that these complaints need to be taken seriously, and their diversity commitment needs to be more than window dressing."

I worked for AT&T for 35 1/2 years. I started as a cord board operator in Fort Worth, Texas in 1964.  Back then, the company cared about the employees.  When my baby brother passed away at the age of 2 1/2 months and my family was having problems getting the money to pay for the funeral services, my Chief Operator Ann King gave us the money and wouldn't take it back. Over the years, I worked in several departments.  I was an operator, service representative, service assistant, clerk and worked in the payment processing office. I retired in 1999 from the Randol Mill office.  During my tenure with AT&T, I served as a job steward, chief steward and departmental vice president for operator services for CWA Local 6201. During my career, my work performance was always satisfactory or exceeded expectations.  I returned to work in July 2004 when the economy began tanking and I went to work at the Randol Mill office in the Emerging Products Center.  Didn't have any problems until several of us were forced to the Customer Sales and Service Center.  The low senior employees were forced to go and my service hadn't been bridged so I was one of them.  Going there was like going to hell on earth. Since I had been a union member, steward, and officer, I feel that I always put the needs of the employees first.  Immediately when I got to the CSSC, I observed managers belittling employees in the middle of the room.  There were violations of the contract and agreements between AT&T and CWA going on practically every day. I took them to task and of course this put a target on my back.  I do want to state that I never had a desire to be a manager because I couldn't treat people the way the managers treated the employees in that office. I went to our union and they didn't do anything to alleviate the hostile working environment in that office.  I finally, out of frustration, went before the monthly meeting and let those in attendance know what I thought about the lack of help we were getting from the union. I also started calling and sending emails to Ed Whitacre's office.  In my humble opinion, this only made the target on my back bigger.  Of course, nothing was done about the hostile workiing environment in the office.  A good number of employees were out on stress disabilities. There was cheating (cramming) going on all the time in regards to sales.  I felt that being honest and having integrity and being able to look at myself in the mirror every morning was more important than cheating to be high in sales. The supervisors I had began to ride my butt unmercifully and I was observed on several times a week.  One of the job stewards said I wasn't doing anything wrong and I was handling my calls like everyone else. I was suspended, pending termination in October 2006.  Of course, I filed a grievance over this to go along with the many others that I had filed. To make a long story a little shorter, my grievance went no where.  It was denied at each level.  The union refused to arbitrate my case.  The appeal process was unsuccessful.  I could not afford to fly to the national convention for the final step of the grievance which was to seek the approval of the delegates to authorize that my case would go to arbitration. From what I understand from some of my friends who called me the following day, our local president, who had known me and who had observed me serve the union and our members in several capacities for several years, didn't even go to the microphone personally to plead case.  This man had known me for 30 years.  He had someone else plead my case then he lied to me about it. I had a very sour taste in my mouth over this for a couple of years.  I had been screwed by the company that I had worked for for over half of my life and I had also been screwed by the union that I faithfully served for many years. Today I can say that I still have my integrity and I was not dishonest about sales.  I earned my paycheck.  I can also say that I stood up for the members that I represented.  I also counseled many of them when I felt they were at fault.  I still represented them, but I tried to help them, There is an old saying that what goes around comes around.  Today, AT&T ranks very low in customer service and also is rated low as a company people want to work for. I tried to get the same law firm that Ms. Edwards used to take my case but they would not take it.  It is hard to get an attorney to handle this type of case in the state of Texas.  The EEOC wouldn't do anything to help me because I was a white female. I just want to let the union members know that you are being led down the wrong road by the leaders of the union.  Look up all the unions in America and you will see that every union on the national level has officers making six figure salaries.  Instead of taking care of the members, they are spending millions of dollars on politics. I am very happy to be away from AT&T and CWA.  God is blessing me in my life more these days and my stress level has decreased tremendously. My thoughts and prayers are with those who are still in the Randol Mill hell hole having to put up with the abuse that will probably never end.  God bless them all. One more thing, I also went to a local television station but I guess they were afraid that AT&T would sue them if they did a story about the Randol Mill office.  The managers that have been named in previous posts are the same ones who railroaded me out of AT&T. I won't list my name, but those who worked with me will know who posted this.

I am a retired sbc/att worker. I managed to SQUEAK by and get my 30 years then I ran as fast as I could out those big glass doors at att in Texas because of some of the same treatment that a lot of you complain of. Believe me I wish it was made up but a lot of this mess is absolutely true. I am a Black female and I saw and endured a lot of crap during my 30 year span. At first I was a little sad to say goodbye...sike! I ran so fast the heels of my feet hit the back of my butt!

I myself did not believe lakecious should have been promoted with her being a chief steward and having a lot of sensitive information. I do have a problem with her acting acting as though she has never been a rep herself and putting people on positive discipline. Im so glad thus far that I have not been placed in her group because i have heard how she can be.Let me also say I dont knock her fo getting hers in the lawsuit but dang just dont forget where you cam from

I do not condon Ms. Edwards methods but I applaud anyone that takes a stand against the company. For those of you still trapped in the trenches, I cannot say it enough..."FIGHT BACK with a VENGENCE" or stop complaining because being lax is what compels this company to continue their torments.

Like many of you, I too was a victim of AT&T/SBC/PacBell antics. If AT&T was a pimp...CWA is most definately its HO! The problems and harassment in Arlington is rampant companywide, in every state, in every call center. I once was like many current employees of the company, content with my $25/hour and benefits, willing to cope with the endless hell to support my family. Literally everyday, as I approached Arroyo and Colorado Blvd in Pasadena, CA...my stomach would sink, a knot would tighten in my throat, and an overwhelming sense of dread would overtake me as I pulled into the parking structure of AT&T. I loved my job, helping people, and the money...however the constant torments of management combined with unscrupulous sales tactics and DEFUNCT CWA representation ultimately became too much to bear. I separated from the company in 2006. I will be honest it was an extremely difficult adjustment...at first. Today, over 2 years later I am stress-free, self employed, earning more money than ever before, and working in a profession that I love. Being fired from that HELL-HOLE was the best thing that could have happened to me. Like so many still there, I never would've left on my own. Don't be mistaken, I fought a good fight and the company and it's attorneys on 5th St. did what they usually do to prevent themselves from being exposed. The rewards I reaped for standing up for myself has opened new doors and possibilities for me.

THE FIGHT WAS NOT EASY BUT IT WAS WORTH IT. CWA IS Coalition of Wretched Assholes that will leave you out to dry and if you think paying your union dues faithfully entitles you to union representation...you're setting yourself up for disappointment. Cover your ass, make copies or email yourself crucial information as it relates to complaints against management, attendance issues, FMLA leaves etc. If you are singled out as I was do be disheartened, GET AN ATTORNEY STAND UP FOR YOURSELF, AND FIGHT THOSE BASTARDS TOOTH AND NAIL. Worse case scenario they'll settle to avoid the negative publicity. They have grown complacent because so many current and former employees allow themselves to be railroaded. Well my momma "Didn't Raise No Punk!" and at 33 I am happier and more successful than I ever could've imagined and just keeps getting better. White, Black whatever, green is all that company cares about. Discrimination and harassment has plagued the company since SBC took over and no one is safe, except the employees that hide in union halls to avoid the frontline battles you must fight everyday.

I'll close with this, you can sweep it under the rug, you can stress yourself out, you can convince yourself that the union has your back...OR TOU CAN EXPOSE THEM! YOU CAN SUE THEM! You can fight back. Consider me an 1 woman army. With God's grace I claimed the victory. "You betta' stand up for yourself and lay down and prepare to get F&$%#KED!"

Mrs. Edwards may not have gone about things in the most kosher way...but she made them pay. In the end, that's what we all want. Mrs. Edwards laugh all the way to the bank..."I DID!"

I can understand Ms.Edwards situation. I too am a victim of discrimination at the hands of AT&T here in Michigan. AT&T has 5 sales segments in Michigan employing about 50 -60 sales people and managers. I was the only minority within these sales segments. If you have concerns regarding diversity ratios, promotions, or hostile environments you are encouraged to contact AT&T's internal 3rd party vendor that handles these diversity issues. There normal response is that your claim is unsubstantiated. I was in an environment of intimidation, isolation, and unequal treatment. My manager broke company policy in two instances in my treatment, and it was determined that the reason he initiated my termination was actually based on a lie that he later recanted, and created another story. Although there was no evidence to back up this new story, AT&T declared that it was my word against his, and they sided with him. This company fired the only other black person to work there in the spring of 2007 for failing a training exercise. The problem is that there were 2 others that failed as well, but kept their jobs and they were white. AT&T has no mandatory diversity training at all. Although to the world the company as a whole may seem to have very diverse policies, when you pull back the cover and look into the various business units like mine (AT&T Mobility formerly Cingular Wireless) you fine many areas of diversity irregularities. I hope someone will not take this company for what they say, but look at what they do. It is a difficult enough economy without having to deal with this type of environment, or actions. Some of these mid level managers feel they have a free reign to do whatever they want when will it stop! I hope somehow Randall Stephenson takes note of what's going on, and steps in to initiate a solution.

Those will add to the mounting figures: Earlier this year, Sun Microsystems (SUNW)let up to 2,500 employees go; Nortel (NT) is cutting 2,100 jobs; Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) will reduce staff by nearly 25,000 following its acquisition of Electronic Data Systems; and even Google (GOOG) got into the game with the shedding of 300 jobs at DoubleClick.

According to the San Jose Mercury News, there are around 1,417,000 people out of work in California alone. That's up 413,000 from this time last year.

Lekeious, I commend you my sista in the struggle. You are not in this by your self. I too experience very similar situaations as an employee of AT&T in california. I was too a damm good union who's first priorty was the people. I got fired, discriminated against, retailated and character defamed by managment. I was also looked over and treated differently frm my fellow caucasian and hispanic co-wokers regarding restrictions and pay due to my disability/chronic illness caused by AT&T a.k.a SBC a.k.a. Pacific bell and also CWA 9505 (except for Robyn Walker, Sherry Mims and Van Johnson who had my back to the end!) You have been nothing but an inspriation to me and just movtivation to fight for what is right and to let justice prevail in my favor and others fighting the cause.

Wow, i woke up this morning, decided to answer the simple question of: "Should i go to that AT&T interview" and i am so glad i did a little online research and WOW. to EVERYONE who wrote here, thank you for the super honest info. i moved here from up north three years ago and have to say that black, white, etc. folks who are from Arlington and Forth Worth and so on are mostly really nice people and do not deserve the bad treatment they get at the numerous call-centers in the area. i like Big Chief Red Feathers comment the best because he is positive and truthful in saying that you can do better elsewhere sometimes by just letting go of a bad situation. if at&t arlington office is as bad as it sounds, then have faith that there IS an office of another company out there that is the opposite and probably a great place to work. you just have to do the hard part. I worked @ randol mill, 3rd floor, office for a few years and decided to leave for reasons like these and more. Racisism was in full swing and everyone that worked there knew it. Unfortuneately for me it was Black managers and thier lackies singeling out white employees, if you work there, get real. It was and still is the truth. Not many white employees left there now are there? keisha has been so successful because of her willingness to be agressive and her lack of caring for anyone but herself. Raceisism is raceisim and its sad. Think about that next time you look around and there isnt much diversity at all. I saw some good people loose thier jobs. The union is powerless im sorry to say, and no one has the courage to address any of these issues. basically the company runs the union now.CWA local 6201 is just hoping to work out a deal to stay at the union hall and not have to go back to being reps or techs again. basically you are all own your own. Trust me this next contract will not be good--for you, the employee. For the others it will be SWEEEET.I know many are still suffering there, $25 and hour isnt worth your health or your sanity. get out before you become one of them or they make you crazy too. only good things have happened sinse i left, more $ now, i dont take medication, I can sleep well,I like to go to work, I dont have to put up with being treated like dog crap and im happy with my life now. trust me, its scary but it will be o.k....get out. You dont have to assume the position anymore once you make up your mind you wont put up with it....good luck to you all.P.S. if yall decide to strike ill drive by and honk for you, with my hairy white butt sticking out my car window, the company and union left me like that a long time ago.

Maybe if you guys had intervened �sooner UNION MEMBERS would not have to use this as a "PUBLIC" forum to tell the truth about what has been happening on this floor or even vent their frustration by calling out people by name. Where was the protection? � Oh that�s right Lakecious was there she gave �FMLA filing 101� classes (ironically her boss forgot she taught that class prior to her being promoted). People are upset because she used them. WHAT DON�T YOU GET �TIME FOR CHANGE�?????

CWA why haven�t you questioned or requested all the files and copies she has in her possession. Surely there is no reason for her to keep all this information (ever wonder why so many CWA members were subpoenaed) � heck she has 10 filing cabinets with everyone�s files, not to mention all the keys and passcodes to the building.. Do you seriously think the "both" of them haven�t gone through every locked drawer or door in that building � they are the first to arrive and the last to leave. So since CWA has not protected its members, and seems to be afraid of Lakecious,(ex union steward) SHUT UP and gather all documents that belong to CWA and take them out of her possession. Oh don�t forget about her personal printers she used to have hooked up to here work station along with proprietary information she has left the office with for her case. CWA Forth Worth? We may need to join the CWA in Dallas. Oh by the way since you need to protect us anyway, we need to know the time frame during the year we can actively resign from the Union-at least this local.

also maybe time to start recording conversations between management and all the employees and what goes on the floor. Like at schools as managers have to free of hand and can determine times to do the mental, physical,racial and sexual harrasment with out being caught. Anyone know if it is legal to record? I know we were all taught better then that. I didnt realize i was a piece of the puzzle until i started reading these comments. I was moved to a new position for a whole day just to be removed the next. Keisha told the manager promoting me that my low seniority wouldnt matter because the rest of the applicants were on steps of discipline.So of course the day i was promoted grievences poored in from the same crew that got burned by her. I now know this was just a move to add to the complaints of certain groups getting special treatment. My livelyhood was used by her to further promote a false lawsuit. She gave no thought to how this would affect my attitude or how it felt to finally get the credit we all work so hard for, just to have it taken away. All to "pad her stats" for the lawsuit.

O.K, I thought I would post some comments before this thread goes to hell in a hand basket! First, let me say I have seen everything described in the above comments myself at that office, and I really do hope this, along with some other measures will finally get this office straightened out. I have seen both black, white, and Hispanic people discrimanated against at this office. Discrimination is just that, no matter the race of the person discriminated against! I used to think AT&T couldn't possibly know what was going on at the Arlington office and how bad it was, but after watching good people having to quit from the harassment, or being targeted for termination, I am convinced that upper management has to know how that office is being operated and simply chooses to ignore the situation, much like the CWA has done. It doesn't matter how good of a job you do, if they want to target you, they will. I have seen it first hand. Once the harassment starts, they try to break you. I hope this story does get out to the media, maybe then, and only then will the company be forced to address the situation!

This response is to (It Goes Both ways says)It is hard to beleive I am reading something like this from a Union Member. It seems as if your comment is from a Manager. Since when does a Union memeber side with management and the Company????? You really need to read your comment and ask yourself what side are you on? Your information is incorrect. You stated The Company does not have to give the employees FMLA rights. You also stated AT&T has a right to be over protected when they are paying $25.00 an hour, and fully paid benefits.It seems you are not a Union member, because if you were you would know your rights and not make Frivilous statements to embaress yourself.Let me explain something to you Union Member! or Manager! FMLA is Federal Law, the company has no Legal right to not allow us to us our FMLA rights. That Law is enforce for all employees regardless if you work for AT&T or not and it is being practiced at all companies. AT&T is the only company that tries to make it impossible for you to use your right, or try to make you feel guilty to use it, or threatens you, or scare you to utilize your rights. I know employees that were so sick and scared to use there FMLA rights they stayed at the work site and an ambulance had to be called, due to the employee was afraid because of management bullying tactics. So FMLA is not a favor to us by the company. Also it is in our contract for the company to pay us for our FMLA absence. That is what the Union bargined for our members to have. If it was up to the company we would have nothing. It was not handed over to us on free will. Our Union had to bargin with the company on this benefit. Read your contract and you will see it is in our contract not a kindness gesture from AT&T. It seems you are bitter members are utilizing there rights. You nor I can sit here and accuse anyone of abusing FMLA. We do not know anyones medical conditon. I am no doctor as well as you are not! If you were you would not be at AT&T!!!! Many employees are ill due to the working conditions they are subject too and the stress they have to endure and the unfair treatment they receive on a daily basis. It works both ways. Just like there are racial issues, discrimination issues, there are also reps who abuse the benefits that are provided to us as well. Over half of the people complaining make it hard for someone like myself not to be looked upon as a "FMLA abuser". The Arlington office just need prayer all together. Manager can't rely on people coming to work and workers can't rely on the managers not to discriminate. Just as Keisha MIGHT HAVE used you all for your information, you use AT&T for their money as well. To me AT&T has a right to be over protected when they are paying $25.00 an hour (plus some) and fully paid benefits, paid FMLA absence (they are not required to pay). So complain all you want it's business in America...If the tables were turned you would do the same. So let's just all be honest in this "thang"...If you paid 40,000 plus for someone surgery just cause they could not back up from the table...and you work and witness them eating Mcdonald's everyday how would you feel? If your paying someone full pay at $25.00 an hour and sent the PI's after them and they chillin in Vegas would'nt you be mad? So it works both ways, ask yourself have you done anything, Anything at all that would put you in default? Now I know it's actually people out there that really need FMLA time, or really needed the Gastric bypass...but there are others that spoil it for the bunch...So in ALOT of cases AT&T and their management team have a reason to be upset. Ms. Morris it is easy for you to assume that others were afraid to file. Would it make a difference to you if others were supposed to be included in that lawsuit? I guess it does not matter to you that others were lied to and made to feel that they could trust Lakecious with their information only to have it thrown back into their faces. If lying and cheating others are the way to win a lawsuit then count me out that only makes more enemies than you need. Plus, AT&T will tie her up in court on appeals she will be lucky if she gets half that money. I guess what makes it sweeter for those that she betrayed will be once she settles with AT&T she will ultimately have to resign just like the previous manager that took a settlement. Ms Edwards was elected by her peers. Whether you like her or not, the members in this office chose her. The very group of people she said treated her unfairly, she became a part of. It is sad to say she immediately took on their ways of doing business. She enjoyed the power which came with being a manager and being a chief steward. I was a very active member at Local6201. I also mobilized a lot of you members at that location. I am ashamed and shocked at some of the comments. I was a Chief Steward and on the organizing committee. I know how important it is we all stick together for we all are Union Sisters and Brothers. I have heard and seen the issues at the location at Arlington and the other locations at Dallas. The company has changed tremendously and only care about the all mighty dollas, not ist employees. We have been surplused, our jobs are being out sourced, there are contractors in place to do our jobs and take over our jobs when we go on strike. The company is trying to get rid of the employees, by placing our members on steps of discipline on frivilous accusations. We all need to look at the big picture instead of pointing fingers. The big picture is we all need to stick together and Unite. We are becoming extent within the company. The company wants to take our jobs away and our benefits.The commend the young lady for going after the company and anyone else that decide too as well. We need to stand up for each other. Regardless of your personal feelings, the company has treated its employees by practicing Unfair Labor Practices,Violating our Contract,Threatening to Terminate your employment if you speak up for what is right.Our contract will be up for negoatiating early next year. The company has already made up its mind it will not negotiate with us. We will be on strike for a long time. We made millions for AT&T yet we are treated as if we are nothing.This practice has been going on for years, it just never made public. AT&T want the public to think it is diversified, and it is the best company for employees to work. It really is a glorified slave shop.Again we need to Unite and look at who is the candidates at our Locals and see who will be for us and support us. As well all can see it is none of the Officers we have in place. It is Politics and we need as Obama said it is time for a CHANGE!!!!!!!We need new blood in out Locals and we must all vote!!!!!So stop bashing each other and help each other. Things will never change until we Unite and push for changes within the company. AT&T are laughing at us to read all of the negativity we are saying about each other. When my daughter (an at&t employee) told me about this turn of events, I couldn't imagine what the big deal was; but now I see said the blind man. I had often heard of how Randol Mill was the worse place one could work; even those that were surplused and had the choice to either go work there because that was just about the only place that had openings (I wonder why??), relocate to another city far away, or just quit the company! This is so unbelieveable, I can recall back in the day, when SWBT as it was called, was the place to be, good salary, great benefits, ability to advance (based on your ability, knowledge of the job, no degree needed), I could see how the company was changing several years ago, especially after 9/11, it just went full throttle into the ditch! It's just a shame and a disgrace that things have turned out the way that they have, but you know that God works in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform, so this just may be the catalylist that get things to change for the better, Think possitive, and don't hate . . . congradulate! Why don't those who feel left out get together and start a class action lawsuit, better strike while the iron is HOT! I'll be praying for each of you . . .

it is sad to say everything mentioned by others and myself above is ALL true and someone at the top of At&t's organizational structure needs to do a complete investigation on Randol Mill. The problems at Randol Mill have existed for so long. People have written to the CEO, contacted news media,and other outside sources but this lawsuit maybe the answer for Randol Mill. Yes, Kecious might have won the lawsuit at the expense of others and she might have rode the union to get promoted but what she really did is what so many others have tried to do over the years,expose the corruption at Randol Mill. Asset, you quick to jump on FMLA abusers,jump on this!

transfering out was the BEST thing I could have did for my career at AT&T...EVERY manager at At&t in the sales office was promoted because they did what At&t wanted...they left their integrity and morals at home...I witnessed managers like Janice Layne,Cheryl Stephenson,and Toni Visor,FORCE reps to say and do ANYTHING to get a sell. Those that did exactly what they wanted and HOW they wanted were rewarded with cash,gift cards, and other valuable prizes,ultimately getting the biggest reward of them all...PROMOTION! If you chose to keep your morals and integrity at work then it did not come without a price. The price was harassment and finally either you were terminated or you gave up the fight and quit. Now, one might ask were was our trusty union in all this? Right were they are today,at the hall making sure they have enough of our dues on hand to plan the next get-a-way and some of them even pretended to be loyal and trust worthy union stewards but now we see, they were after the BIG prize too! At&t is getting just what they deserve with this lawsuit because if they would promote people based off of job knowledge,education and skills rather than cramming and slamming skills, Kecious as well as some of the other managers would not be in the positions they are in today. Pay up At&t because $411k is nothing compared to the millions managers like Kecious,Janice,Cheryl, and Toni have scammed so many of your loyal customers out of.

You should be glad you did not come to that HELL HOLE!!! They only way you would make it as a manager in that office is if you do whatever the Queen B (and we know what the B stands for) Janice Layne wants you to do. Most of the managers sit around there like lap dogs waiting on her to throw them their next rep to get rid of. They have no backbones and act like some old "Uncle Toms". They are so afraid to go against the grain that if they went against what she says it would be the end of their careers with AT&T. We all know how the top lap dog is at the Arlington office Janice Layne because everyone knows that Janice does whatever Keisha says goes and that is what she does. Janice is a sorry excuse for a Second Line. When she first came to the office she made everyone feel as she was going to make the office better but she has turned it to a complete nightmare but you know what they say what goes around comes around. Janice and Keisha will soon get theres and it will not be pretty when asset protection starts to check those AT&T issued cards. I wonder if AT&T knows that Keisha uses all her receipts when she purchases prizes on her own personal income tax. WAKE UP AT&T KEISHA IS ROBBING YOU GUYS TWICE!!!!!

Most of the things that I have read are terrible about this office. I can not believe that this office carried on like this and believe me if Lakecious Edwards wrongfully filed and had a money hungry attorney, it will come back at her. All I can continue to say is WOW. I will keep yall in my prayers. Maybe this is the wake up they needed. If truly this office is being ran like this and have been exposed, I am sure AT&T isn't liking the negative publicity. All it will take is for the right reporter to read this and wanna make public on air what is going on. Yall keep your heads up. I don't know the woman (Lakecious Edwards) but she will get what is coming to her if she did all these things. Thank God for the appeal process!

I understand the frustration that many of you have with LeKecious. However, I had a hard time reading through some of your blogs. Several of you have HORRIBLE grammar and it makes you look bad.
