The DFW is High on High-Tech

Categories: Biz

Is the DFW a "cybercity?" Damn right: No. 5 in the whole U.S.A., according to AeA, which is only "the nation’s largest technology trade association representing all segments of the high-tech industry." Today, AeA released a report titled Cybercities 2008: An Overview of the High-Technology Industry in the Nation's Top 60 Cities, and the DFW claimed 176,000 high-techies in 2006 -- with 2,800 of them added during that year, the most recent for which employment data was available. The four metropolitan areas ahead of us: New York City; Washington, D.C.; San Jose/Silicon Valley; and Boston. --Robert Wilonsky
