Folks Sue Brinker, Claiming Its Guiltless Food Is a Little Too Guilty
Speaking of lawsuits, here's yet another one filed in Dallas federal court: On June 5, a woman from Washington named Anne Paskett filed a class-action suit here against Brinker International, the parent company of Chili's, Romano's Macaroni Grill, Maggiano's and On The Border Mexican Grill and Cantina. Paskett and the rest of the plaintiffs are claiming that the restaurant chain's so-called healthier offerings -- like the "Guiltless Black Bean Burger" at Chili's -- are far more guilty than Brinker's letting on. Because even though all the nutritional info's on the menu, says the story, "Independent laboratory tests were conducted, and the lab claims it discovered that the fat content of the items are sometimes 'double, or even triple, the amount shown on these menus.'"
