Why You Live in the DFW

Fri May 09, 2008 at 02:31:11 PM

Because, notes the Friend of Unfair Park who sent this along, we've got lots of available land, falling unemployment rates and, dang it, because you're smart and beautiful. And, look, if Forbes said it, it must be true: Dallas-Fort Worth, we're officially "Recession-Proof"! --Robert Wilonsky

We'll see if this is the case in six months when gas is $5/gallon.

Jenny Gorilla says:

Hey that's wonderful. Can I move to the
San Diego Zoo now?

chad says:

I live in this city for 2 reasons, the hookers and the blackjack.. on second thought, forget the blackjack - bender (sorta)

Rusty Ward says:

Bright lights big city the old story of a West Texas kid that wanted to get away from the big sky, blowing dust, and he said she said of small town. That along with the burned in memories of WFAA and KERA (carried by our cable company). Or maybe the fact that eveyone I knew in High School moved to Austin, eveyone I knew in College moved to San Antonio, what does that leave Houston. Rembere the blowing dust! People who live in blowing dust love telling horror stores of the one time they traved and boy was it humid there.

Matt says:

I HATE Dallas.

I hate it with a passion that can only be compared to my LOVE for money and success.

ironically, THAT is why I live in Dallas.

No matter how much I may hate the superficial people, materialistic culture, overly- condescending-religion-for-money attitude, and allergies....(which I do)... I will stay here because I have constant job-security, and contant cash-flow, and best of all, I don't have to compete for the salary I want.

Hate to admit it, but there you go.

And, Go Cowboys....
