Someone Needs to Tell Laird and Bradley They're On the Same Side

Fri May 09, 2008 at 11:30:01 AM

Lotta questions about last night's bench-clearing brawl between the Rangers and Mariners, after the "gutless" Richie Sexson charged Kason Gabbard for no good reason t'all. But, first and foremost, what the hell's going on between catcher Gerald Laird and Milton Bradley at the 1:24 mark of this nearly seven-and-a-half minute video? They're teammates, for Chrissakes. --Robert Wilonsky

Update: As the original video's been yanked -- gracias, MLB -- here's the Mariners' take. Which, yup, still has the Laird-Bradley run-in.

easily the worst reason for charging the mound i've seen in my 32 years. what a dipshit. he flinches like the ball's at his head- too bad it was right over the plate, just high.

i fucking hate baseball players. if you put them in the real world for a week those insulated fucks would starve to death.

new reality show perhaps?

Cory says:

Sportscenter showed different video. Before Bradley pushed Laird, Bradley was playing peace maker by basically carrying Laird away from the pile. Laird kept wanting to go back but Bradley kept pushing him away from the pile. A little forceful, but I think it was with good intentions.

I hate people named jamal. Such assholes. Never met a baseball player in his life but by god he hates every fuckin one of them.

jamal says:

Why does MLB hate youtube ?

Milton Bradley was doing it with good intentions. MB is wound up, but he is a super guy. Definitely would like to have another 20 guys on the Rangers who cared as much as MB. As a guy who moved from LA, MB is my favorite ExDodger in the last 20 years... I think he loves playing for Ron Washington.
