During the first quarter of 2008, Texas Instruments chipped in $900,000 to lobbyists around the greater D.C. area -- get it? Chipped in? Well, so says the Associated Press today after glancing at Dallas-based Texas Instruments' filings, which reveal that the company's doled out much green during the first quarter of 2008 to lobby for everything from immigration reform to research tax credits. And by immigration reform, the AP means:
The Dallas-based company lobbied the federal government on legislation to increase visas for highly skilled foreign workers that the tech industry says is needed to fill vacant positions and reform the patent process.
