C'mon, City of Dallas, Give "Clever DISD Student" Credit Where Credit is Dew

Wed Apr 23, 2008 at 12:52:43 PM

The City of Dallas, case ya didn't know, has a water-conservation effort called Save Dallas Water -- catchy, no? And just a few moments ago, it posted to the YouTube an animated short starring the mascot cleverly named "Dew," cute. Only, c'mon, City of Dallas, give credit where it's due. Because next to the video it only says "a clever DISD student came up with this amazing animation," without mentioning the aspiring animator's name and where he or she goes to school. Which, frankly, sucks. --Robert Wilonsky

If we are really having a water shortage, someone needs to explain why city employees routinely come to my neighborhood, turn on the hydrants and let the water run down the storm drains for hours and hours. This has been going on for years...

Gabe says:

Because conservation is important - and if no one wasted water we wouldn't need to conserve it.

So those city workers are providing a valuable service in that they are wasting water, allowing the rest of us to preform the important task of conserving it. Duh.

ChrisU says:

cute mascot, but poor 'Dew' won't survive a Dallas summer

Wylie H. says:

Has anyone else bothered to check (I'm too lazy) the veracity of the rumor that Dallas Water Utilities "loses" (via leaky mains, etc.) a higher percentage of water than just about any other water utility in the U.S.?
