The Best Photo of Dallas ... Ever?

Thu Mar 20, 2008 at 08:31:05 AM

Fine. Perhaps that headline's a little too gassy with hyperbole. But it's been Unfair Park's pleasure -- nay, honor -- to run a few of Justin Terveen's photos in recent months. They're extraordinary -- like, oh, this one from New Year's Eve and this one of the skyline, which Brad Oldham managed to screw up on Good Morning America. But we can't do justice to this hypnotizing photo of downtown, which was commissioned by Forest City Residential Management -- you know, the folks behind the Merc redo. So we'll just link to it, and imagine a day when someone can pay the guy a fortune for making one of the fugliest cities in the country look so goddamned beautiful. --Robert Wilonsky

Honestly, any picture of the city that ever gets published anywhere should be one of his. I could look at his photo stream for hours. It makes me look at the center city in a whole other light.

Kelly says:

I guess you can Photoshop anything. Not just for celebrities

ChrisU says:

and he took an angle that put Pegasus right in the center, perfect.

Best photo? Seriously? This photo sucks because it's dominated by downtowns ugliest atrocities...the wretched AT&T building.

Courtney says:

Justin's photos do not lean heavily on photoshop. He is a true artist and I am proud to say a friend as well. He may do some clean-up work on his shots, but they are not "fake" by any means.

Tim Covington says:

Justin does incredible work. And, if you think Dallas is one the ugliest cities in the USA, you've never been to Newark.

Lakewooder says:

Over at dallasmetropolis.com we have been the beneficiaries of Justin's work for several years, he never ceases to incite oohs and ahs..also he organized a great party for us on top of the Kirby Building!

chad says:
