Meat the Mayor

Yeah, that's spelled right -- because, see, Mayor Tom will be holding court tonight at Urban Market on Jackson Street. He's speaking from 7-8 p.m., providing an "update on downtown" (less urine-y!) and then taking Your Questions, and I do believe we have a few. Better still, there are wining and dining festivities before the shindig, from 6-7 p.m., with beer and wine provided for washing down a sampler-platter nosh. Because nothing goes better with a mayoral meet-and-greet than an hour's worth of getting your beer on. --Robert Wilonsky

Robert, can I just show up at Urban Market or do I need to check with Willis Johnson first?

That was indeed a question we had for Leppert. But a pound of sirloin's on the house if you ask it first.

Alfredo says:

Might want to ask Carol Reed first

Wobert Rilonsky says:

i bet it gets pretty ugly. i plan on attending now.

PJW says:

would rather pound nails into my head

rusty ones at that

Lakewooder says:

OK, I'll ask the question. Throw in dessert and I'll repeat Navin Johnson's dad's advice to Willis Johnson - "Don't trust whitey, Lord loves a workin' man, and see a doctor and get rid of it."

Deal?

Wylie H. says:

Those desiring to attend should obtain credentials from the following individuals:

1) Black/african american residents and contractors - Mr. Willis Johnson;

2) Hispanic-surnamed residents and contractors - Ms. Adelfa Callejo or Ms. Brenda Reyes;

3) Caucasian residents and contractors - Ms. Carol Reed.

That is all.

Nathan says:

Awww, I have to go through Carol Reed?!? What about my Chamber of Commerce Membership Card? Does that pull any favors in this town anymore? And to think, I voted "No", or was it "Yes"? Aw hell!

IttyBittyWussy says:

Before applying for credentials, it is recommended that all applicants read "My Life, Under the Table" by Sandra Crenshaw.

Alysa says:

you guys are fantastic =)

I wish I could make it, simply to watch the inevitible (hopeful) nitty gritty, but unfortinuately i'll still be stuck here at work =(

pjw says:

religion of bacon says:

So RW, are we going to get any sort of report on how this went? Did the villagers come at Mayor Tom with pitchforks and torches (he said hopefully)?
