Jason Kidd Most Definitely Did Not Quit on New Jersey
Jason Kidd yesterday spent a couple of hours chatting with the New York Daily News about coming back to Dallas and leaving New Jersey -- where Nets president Rod Thorn has said Kidd more or less quit on the team. Which is most definitely not the case, Kidd said while sitting "on a massive stone deck that wraps around his palatial 17th-floor rooftop penthouse apartment" somewhere in the city.
Says Kidd: "The ride was over. At the end of the day, I gave everything that I could give to the Nets. There were no more rabbits that I could pull out of the hat. There were no more rabbits that Rod (Thorn) could pull out of a hat. That is as far as they could go. I took them as high as I could." If nothing else Saturday's Mavs-Nets game at the American Airlines Center oughta be fun. Most definitely. --Robert Wilonsky
