Avery Gets a New Web Site

Avery Johnson's decision to bench Jason Kidd in the final seconds of last night's loss to the San Antonio Spurs has led to the inevitable: a new Web site called ... you guessed it .... FireAvery.com. Right now, it's just a photo and a couple of sentences; but its creator promises, "More coming soon." Of course, that Fire Mack Brown site didn't amount to much, but, still, Web sites are fun. --Robert Wilonsky

I can't believe Van Gundy defended Avery's move while calling the Lakers game Sunday.

It was dumb...so very dumb. Dare I say fireable in its stupidity.

And in Avery's "we needed shooters" defense, why in the blue-ball blazes was Dampier out there? Why not Dirk and four "shooters."

Or hey, why not go with the unit that was out on the floor most of the game instead of throwing in a crazy lineup? The move wreaked of Dallas' completely different lineup against Golden State in the playoffs last year. How did that end?
