Some of Ms. Foreman's words of wisdom, from her "Dallas Connector" blog:

we should not allow a few Uncle Toms who are trying to line their own pockets in the name of the Black community (Southern Dallas)to deter us from doing what is right. With all due respect to Joyce Foreman, I don't understand the logic behind this move. I guess I just don't understand Dallas politics. It seems to me the city of Dallas would be best served with a Transportation expert at the helm of DART. Instead, everyone's excited about a woman with an A.A. in Liberal Arts from El Centro and a B.S. in Management from Paul Quinn College who happens to be a small business (Office Products, Inc.) owner.

I've used the DART rail a few times to get to and from games at the AAC. Does this mean I'm qualified to chair the DART Board?

WTF's wrong with this city?

How can they put somebody on the DART board that talks bad about 10-11 of the people on city council? Dallas will be a laughingstock. on herblog she talks bad about:

Elba Garcia, Sheffie Kadane
David Newman, Tom Leppert
Dwaine Caraway, Tennell Adkins
Jerry Allen, Ron Natinsky, Linda Koop
Get somebody new, not old

Jim, your point is well taken but I'm tired of watching the revolving parade of poli-ticks within our city government. I have no idea how most of these people are appointed, but it's clear to me "ability to perform" is NOT a criteria. The criteria seems to be: 1.Color of skin. 2. Who do you know. 3. Whose ass have you kissed. 4. Have you perfected your reach-around skills, and so forth and so on. You can't swing a dead cat anywhere near our city government without hitting something that stinks. To make matters worse, there seems to be little or no accountability. These people just continue to fuck things up, then they gather at the end of the day and pat each other on the back. Go figure.

is notable only for what appears to be a total lack of meaningful qualifications. Also, he appears never to have held a job of any sort in his life (at least he neglects to include any work history on his bio).

At one point, his application was posted online at the City of Dallas website... it contained numerous spelling errors, grammatical mistakes, etc. (he filled it in by hand).

Oh yeah, I did miss one big qualification: he donated $1,000 to Don Hill a couple of months before Hill nominated him for the position.
