See, on occasion it pays to get out of the office. As in, some of us were dining this afternoon at the Taco Diner in the West Village -- enh -- when, on the way back, Merritt Martin's back-seat passenger snapped this pic of the fire at the Bibbentuckers at 3501 McKinney Avenue. At least, Merritt says, sure looked like it was at Bibbentuckers: "They were going in through Bibbentuckers, and it stank of chemicals." I always wanted to go to Bibbentuckers, because it looks like a good times Dave & Buster's-style establishment and I love skee-ball. When I found out it was a dry cleaners, I was severely disappointed.
I was right there at Lemmon and McKinney when the fire trucks hauled in....but I thought it was at Texas Land and Cattle. That could also explain the smelling of chemicals.

I thought it was a restaurant at first, too, but instead of being skee-ball-riffic, I assumed it was some sort of deli. I felt stupid after I figured out it was a dry cleaners.
I think the confusion comes from Bibbentuckers sounding so much like Fuddruckers. Mystery solved.
Maybe somebody threw in a Molotov cocktail when they were shown the Bibbentuckers price sheet. Seriously.
