The Clone Wars

Categories: Dish

So, it's safe to eat clones -- even if they're made from Jango Fett? Oh, sorry: Says the U.S. Food and Drug Administration about a ton of evidence-supporting docs released yesterday, "meat and milk from cow, pig, and goat clones and the offspring of any animal clones are as safe as food we eat every day." Only, hold up: Meat processor Tyson Foods, Inc. insists it ain't heading down that road, nor is Dallas-based dairy distribution giant Dean Foods. They both say they won't go clone ... not yet, anyway. From The Los Angeles Times: "Dean and other firms could tap anti-clone sentiment by marketing clone-free products." Really, isn't this how the Republic fell? --Robert Wilonsky
