Not Your Plain Ol' Plano, Looks Like
Scott and Tracey Schaefer's Lexington Luxury Builders is responsible for several townhouse developments and custom homes in the area; and till now, much of their work's been done around Oak Lawn and Uptown. But this morning, GlobeSt.com brings word about their mysterious "Plano Project" -- about which there's no info on the LLB Web site, where it says only, "Details coming soon!"
Turns out, it's a $26-million project called, rather cumbersomely, Lexington Park at Rice Field, and much of the financing for the retro-looking development comes courtesy an unnamed "New York City-based equity partner." The Central Expressway-based LLB has been trying to develop the 6.3-acre tract for two years, and now expects to begin selling townhouses by the middle of '08 -- and in a much-coveted piece o' property in downtown Plano, down Avenue G between 16th and 18th streets, which, notes GlobeSt.com, is "the site of Plano's first high school football stadium and two blocks from DART's light-rail station." And: It's in Plano's Historic District. --Robert Wilonsky
