Oak Cliff’s Charlie Hatley may not be headed to the Olympics, but he now has another title to add to his resume: world champion.
Over the weekend, Hatley won the Golden Gloves World Championship, and he couldn’t have done it in more impressive fashion. He knocked out his semi-finals opponent in the first round, and his championship opponent, Mark Clauzel of Great Britain, refused to answer the opening bell. A pro career for Hatley now looms. Don’t think this will be the last we hear from the Bodysnatcher or the Oak Cliff Boxing Club. --Jesse Hyde
