Before political correctness. Before Bill Maher thought he was edgy. Before Weird Al Yankovic cashed in on parodies. There was Bowley and Wilson. Or I might be wrong, because any time I went to see the legendary and raunchy comedy duo, I left doubled-over in laughter and/or triple-wasted.

And you did too, if you caught their crude act in the original club on Yale Boulevard or the last stop on Greenville Avenue, near what is now Ozona Grill. It’s not exactly on par with these guys’ gig next month, but the old SMU frat buddies are actually dusting off the profanity for a reunion of their own. Yes, you have time, but mark your calendars anyway: Live February 16 at Poor David’s Pub on Lamar: Bowley and Wilson’s Colonoscopy Tour 2008.

Leave your kids and your thin skin at home, because you’ll likely hear all the classics that made B&W’s Up Your Alley the place for live comedy in Dallas in the early ‘80s. Hits like “Oh Shit, Look At Them Tits!,” “Wouldn’t You Like To Be A Pecker, Too?” and “Oh, You’re Never Gonna Get Your Wish With An SMU Sorority Bitch.” (You can even download a new song from their site: "Put It Back In.") Of course their calling card diyty -- let’s just go with “Lucy” -- is too hot to handle even for Unfair Park. But don’t be afraid to relive fast and free ‘80s. Chances are you’ll get to see a “volunteer” yanked up on stage to play the bongos on plastic boobs while shooting tequila and eating a jalapeno. Now where else you gonna get that? --Richie Whitt
