No one could do it better: Picnic of PPT, performing with Shibboleth at last night's Dallas Observer Music Awards ceremony

As the fog lifts and the pounding dissipates, a few more things from last night's Dallas Observer Music Awards ...

First off, yes, after the jump is a complete list of winners. Sorry we didn't get to it sooner, but we were hoping to have the entire issue up a little earlier than usual. Yeah, OK -- the morning after an awards show that ended around midnight, fine, great planning on my part.

Much thanks to The Crash That Took Me, which provided the soundtrack to the pre-show party. "Wow, you guys booked the loudest band possible," said -- by which I mean, shouted -- one nominee. "How very rock and roll of you."

Former KTVT-Channel 11 anchor-reporter Sarah Dodd just may be the best presenter you could have at an awards show, incidentally: She spoke over the roaring masses, made jokes people actually thought were funny (every time she announced a winner, they were "my favorite") and got the crowd to cheer her very gracious police chief husband, who looked like he wanted to be somewhere else. Another fan favorite: George Gimarc, who was warmly received by those with memories longer than last week.

And all morning, the members of the Reunion Tower Review -- all local all-stars, all amazingly early risers -- have been exchanging e-mails, thanking and praising their fellow teammates for jobs well done. There may not be a "scene," but try telling that to anyone who heard PPT and Shibboleth perform together last night. Because that, Friends, that was magic. --Robert Wilonsky
