Copper? We Hardly Even ... OK, Fine.

Categories: News

Says here that on June 19 and again on July 24, someone "vandalized" Time Warner Cable's fiber-optic lines that run along the Stemmons Freeway underpass near the Trinity River -- and by vandalized, they mean someone stole the copper wiring out of the conduits.

The first time it happened, some 45,000 customers temporarily lost phone, Internet and TV service; 16,000 were affected last month, according to the company. And Time Warner, which says the thefts have cost thousands to repair, has had enough: The company's offering $1,000 for info leading to the arrest of the person or persons involved. If you want, you can have it all in pennies. --Robert Wilonsky
