Why We Didn't Go to Law School

Dallas Video Festival guru Bart Weiss stopped by the office this week to talk about the 20th DVF, which gets underway next week and promises a meaty schedule -- and I don't just mean the '70s porn homage Viva, which screens ... um ... look, the DVF's site isn't exactly the easiest to negotiate.

Anyway, we do know when The Trials of Law School screens: August 5 at 4:30 p.m. at the Kalita Humphreys Theater. It's of some interest to locals, as well: It was directed by an Oklahoma filmmaker and attorney named Porter Heath Morgan, who attended S.M.U. -- which is where some of the documentary was shot. And Texas Law Blog pointed out a couple of weeks back that, "Of the students featured [in the movie], four now practice in the Dallas area." We're in the middle of watching it, and so far, so pretty danged good. Tix are available here. --Robert Wilonsky
