As In, "He Feels Awful"
We revealed his clandestine scheming and scamming of an Addison-based sports company back in March. Dallas’ Only Daily painted him with a broad brush a few days earlier. But yesterday, the Securities and Exchange Commission weighed in on Dallas attorney Phil Offill, filing suit against him for one of those “pump and dump” stock scams.
Offill, who worked for the SEC till 1999 and was once arm-in-arm with former mayoral candidate Darrell Jordan at the Dallas law firm formerly known as Godwin Gruber (now Godwin Pappas Langley Ronquillo), was charged, along with an Arizona attorney, with dumping millions of shares of AVL Global stock into the marketplace without any public disclosure of the company’s failing operations. I’m not smart enough to even pretend to know what that means, but I’m pretty sure I don’t want Offill on my team. --Richie Whitt
