A New-Wave Flashback, Courtesy the Ghost of PM Magazine

Categories: Local Music

There are approximately 32 things about this clip from PM Magazine that are hysterical, not the least of which is the use of Billy Joel's "It's Still Rock and Roll to Me" during the segment on Dallas' new-wave movement. (Thanks to our pal Steve Dirkx for the posting; he keeps us hanging on the Telefones, after all.) Because even before you get to that, there's WFAA-Channel 8 touting something confusingly called "Ape Ventures Week," with Planets of the Ape footage. Ah, and how we miss Sound Warehouse, from which now-working-in-Tampa Bill Ratliff filed this report. And now we can't get the PM Magazine theme out of our heads, damn it. Come back, Leeza Gibbons, all is forgiven. --Robert Wilonsky
