• the door is a pyramid scheme thriving on the friends of high school kids who started bands because they heard this one coldplay song that just... you know... really spoke to them. i can't imagine how russel's shit has been allowed to survive as long as it has.

• So, does that mean no alcohol at the former GTR? I've seen many a show stone cold sober, but alcohol-free shows are often flat.

• Has Deep Ellum's music scene been reduced to little more than an alt Christian youth hang out? It's time for me to move. I never belonged in this neighborhood anyway. But a few years ago, that was kind of the point.

• It's actually a smart move for Russell. The Door's current location sits right on top of the worst part of the decaying sewer line in Deep Ellum. Give him a chance. Without Russell there probably never would have been a Deep Ellum music scene.

• Hmm... Well, it's an improvement for The Door, that's for sure. Will I visit it? If someone I want to see plays, sure. Otherwise, na...
