The Texas Observer's home page confirms what we found out but a short while ago: Molly Ivins has died. We will have more tomorrow from her old friend and Dallas Times Herald colleague (by which I mean "drinking buddy") Jim Schutze. --Robert Wilonsky

This makes me Sad. My condolences to Jim, and all her friends, which makes just about every Texan I know.
Let the "Ann and Molly go into a Saloon in Heaven" jokes begin.
She will and is missed. Irreplaceable. I first read Molly along with Jim Schutze in my old friend the Dallas Times Herald. Afflict the Comfortable today in her honor.
