Hey, Brothers and Sisters, Come Out to Hear, uh, Brothers and Sisters
In this week's paper version of Unfair Park you'll find our preview of tonight's New Riders of the Purple Sage show at the Granada, which kicks off promptly at 8 p.m. with a set by Austin's Brothers and Sisters, our favorite new act from the 512. The band first caught our attention at last year's South by Southwest, where they outshone their fellow Austinites with a refreshingly unpretentious set of sunny late '60s country-rock. (Imagine the Mamas and the Papas singing "Life's Greatest Fool" by Gene Clark and you're halfway there.)
As a preview of tonight's festivities, we present you with the video for Brothers and Sisters' "One Night," featuring ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead frontman Conrad Keely in the googly-eyed throes of a roller-skate romance. If watching doesn't make you grab your honey for a couples-only and skate on down to the Granada tonight, then we're predicting six more weeks of winter. --Noah W. Bailey
