You Know Who Likes Terrell Owens? Canadians. Dunno Why. Just Do.

Categories: Sports

I do believe the NFL's due to announce its Pro Bowl roster shortly; Richie will chime in at the appropriate moment. Till then, here's this football related nugget from north of the border, where the cold air apparently does strange things to people. Dig this: Terrell Owens had the best-selling NFL jersey in Canada in 2006, according to NFLCanada.com. Seems Canadians, a nice people by nature, are willing to forgive Owens his spitting at players and his dropping of passes and his mixing of herbal supplements. Mighty nice.

There are 10 teams whose jerseys make up more than 70 percent of all NFL tops sold in Canada. In order, they are: Pittsburgh Steelers, Your Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Bengals, Seattle Seahawks, New Orleans Saints, Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots, Atlanta Falcons, Chicago Bears and San Diego Chargers. Owens' No. 81 jersey makes up 95 percent of those Cowboys jerseys sold; here's guessing Tony Romo accounts for the other five, unless them Canucks still have a soft spot for Mike Vanderjagt and his heyday with the Toronto Argonauts. Doubtful. --Robert Wilonsky
