Never you mind the quality of this screen grab. But this is how The Daily Show last night broke the news that Chris Bell (and Kinky Friedman and Carole Straylander Keehorn Jingleheimer Schmidt) had lost to incumbent Governor Rick Perry. The GOP's mascot trundled across the screen and took a dump on Bell's forehead, which prompted the studio audience to collectively mutter a disgusted though bemused, "Awwwww." To which Jon Stewart asked the crowd: "You responding to a Democratic loss or an elephant shitting on a person's head?" Yes. --Robert Wilonsky
