Is this Phil Haberman's real military ID or a phony, like the man pictured on it?

Phony Special Forces soldier Phil Haberman, the self-proclaimed war hero who was anything but, is still out there spinning his stories on MySpace and dating sites. And he's tangled with Greensickle, a blog whose motto is "cutting down the leftist onslaught on American patriotism, one coffee-shop-poet at a time"; it's taking credit for getting Haberman's MySpace site deleted.

Greensickle was created by a California mortgage broker named Eric, who says he served in the 82nd Airborne, and his longtime buddy David, a law school student in Austin. There's lots of military and anti-left musings, but Greensickle also outs military imposters on its "Stolen Valor" section. Scroll down and check out their exchanges with, in their words, "urinal cake and deranged sociopath" Haberman.

Kristen Rhoad, Haberman's ex-wife, is now in law school, but she's still so pissed off she created a blog called The Rhoad Warrior to keep up pressure on the Army to prosecute Haberman, who received his second "other than honorable" discharge after our story. It's highly unlikely that the military will press charges against Haberman, but Rhoad is nothing if not persistent. She points out that Haberman has posted on several dating Web sites under the names ScubaPhil and Oceanluvnguy and insists he is still conning other women who find him "pleasant and helpful" and has posted everything from copies of his military ID to photos of him with a woman who has come to Haberman's defense.

Haberman also now claims to have re-enlisted in the military--only this time in the Air Force.

"This story makes me really sad," posts an old friend under the name "Anonymous" on Greensickle. "I knew Philip as a kid and I can tell you he always had emotional and behavioral problems. He was on medication. I wish someone out there could get him the help he really needs." Those he has ripped off may wish him a different fate. --Glenna Whitley

Kisten Rhoad says:

Thank you for your attention to the Haberman saga. One correction, although it is a nice comment, I am not in law school, yet.

Wow, this is the most interesting article i have read all day! i have the distinct (dis)honor of being around this punk for the last 2 1/2 months here in fort lee, VA. Sadly after reading these articles i regret to inform everyone he is back in the military and still spouting his nonsense, this time as an airborne paratrooper attending parachute rigger school. The group of guys in our school all take his stories with a VERY large grain of salt, it seems he is still with the special forces, soon to get a position with a SEAL team! HA! hopefully someday the government will come up with a plan to prosecute these phonies and let us real soldiers reclaim the glory that he is tarnishing.
thank you for these articles, i probably cannot do anything about it but i will spread the word and hopefully he wont bother anyone else!

Name Witheld says:

Phil Haberman is one sick person. He is truly a sociopath. I can attest to the fact that he was discharged from Medical Retention Processing Unit (MRPU) at Fort Bragg,NC with a less than honorable discharge. He went AWOL I don't know how many times and had to be physically escorted to the Staff Judge Advocate's office for his hearing. The entire time he was telling everyone how to do everything and he was the one being proscecuted. Since I worked at MRPU/Womack Army Medical Center, I can attest also that he is a compulsive liar who actually believes the lies he tells. He has not been in the Special Forces, nor the Marines - he did fraudulently wear a Marine uniform for a publicity photo posing as a Marine. There is a federal warrant out against him if he ever steps into Nevada. Where other medical hold soldiers while assigned to MRPU would have a file - a folder; there were 4 boxes of paperwork just on him. He is a disgrace to any uniform, he jumps from Reservist to Guardsman, from state to state, one step ahead of the law. His injury while deployed for a brief time? He fell on his butt out of the back of a truck. He was forbidden from having access to any weapons by his Commanding Officer and that is documented in his records that are maintained by the U. S. Army at Ft Bragg. I was told by his case manager at the Med Hold Clinic that he was a sociopath and one day he was going to blow - that she just wanted him out of there before it happens and that he should be on meds and long term treatment but that they did not have the time or the facilities for something like that.

Christy says:

Well just to let everyone know that this fool is emailing me now asking for help in transferring money from Iraq to the U.S. I knew it was one of those lame scams 10 seconds into reading it. His name is Sgt. Haberman Phil Jason and is currently in Iraq. And he needs my help to bring $45 million ASAP before he is discharged. Which will be split 50/50 when I help him. HAHA! THAT FOOL IS CRAZY!

Rhoadwarrior says:

Yes, he's stil out there scamming and stealing from anyone.

He stole diving equipment from OMS and produced fake military orders that he's being deployed to Iraq (again) to avoid prosecution... while playing DJ on the Sarasota, Florida scene. Check out his MySpace profile "DRAGER"...all
lies, each & every one of them.

I'm still amused by his antics. One of these days, he'll get what he's been deserving for a long time coming!
If you find him, let him know we're onto him. Post your findings here!
