The Times Tongue-Kisses Southwest

Is this story in The New York Times today: a) a fawning profile of a business under seige by its larger local competitor; b) a case study in mid-1970s retro-feminism; c) a celebration of a job well done and proof that when treated well, employees will last forever; d) a lesson in getting in on the ground floor of a struggling start-up; or e) all of the above? I mean, wow, Southwest Airlines could not have asked for--or paid for--a nicer piece than the one that's on the front effin' page of today's Paper of Record. And after my nice lunch with the guys from American Airlines last Friday, I was all ready to support the Wright Amendment. Not really, but they were swell guys. --Robert Wilonsky
