Says here Drew Henson oughta be considered as the Dallas Cowboys' quarterback of the future. Why? Because he's gone 5-3 during his stint as QB for the Rhein Fire in NFL Europe, throwing nine TDs and three picks. Sounds about right for a Cowboys QB these days; the bar's low, after all. Fact is, I doubt he'd start for the Dallas Desperados, who open the Arena Football League playoffs a week from tomorrow with journeyman vet Clint Dolezel. The guy threw an AFL record 105 TDs this season. Maybe Henson can carry his clipboard too.
And if you ever wondered what happened to Quincy Carter, he's in Montreal. Fighting for a back-up position in the Canadian Football League. Making $75,000. Claiming he never violated the National Football League's drug policy. If that's true, now may be the time to reconsider and spark up. --Robert Wilonsky
