Air Cargo World, billed as the authoritative voice of the international air freight industry, named Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport as the world's most excellent cargo airport in its second Air Cargo Excellence Survey based on a worldwide query of air cargo users. Fraport Frankfort got the second highest overall score, while London's Gatwick pulled in third. Memphis International was the second best overall scorer in the U.S., tying with Hong Kong. Among the air freight carriers, Southwest Airlines had the ninth best overall score (edged out by FedEx), easily beating American Airlines, which came in 27th (edging out UPS). China Airlines captured the No. 1 spot. Two questions: Will DFW be able to hold onto its top spot once these security guidelines for U.S. seaports--adapted from the popular airport passenger security measures--are adopted for air cargo? Will mighty Southwest clobber China once it gets the Wright of way? --Mark Stuertz
