Wamsley: Guilty

Categories: News

After two and a half hours of deliberations, jurors in Andrew Wamsley's capital murder trial returned a guilty verdict this afternoon. With tears in their eyes, Wamsley's family stared at him as the verdict was read. As he was throughout the trial, Wamsley was stoic when the guilty verdict was announced and when he was taken away shortly after. Sentencing begins 10 a.m. Monday. He faces the death penalty for the role in the murder of both of his parents. I have no doubt that prosecuting attorney Paige Simpson's moving closing argument was a major factor in the jury's decision. --Andrea Grimes
