They Went and Stole Shawn Bradley's Bike!

Categories: Awful News

I swear this recently reopened Sportatorium isn't an afterthought; and bless those of you still posting in Thursday's item -- hey, there's Merten. Efforts are underway to better reboot this thing sooner than later. But in the meantime, feel free to fill Joe Tone's inbox with random observerations and enders and recipes. He loves that.

But this item, this nugget of gold, I could not keep to myself. It comes to us courtesy CBS News and concerns not the Cowboys 44-7 win over Buffalo (which somehow didn't feel as impressive as it might have looked, especially during that very shrugging second half, which i guess one could blame on blowout let-up ...?), but the travails of one former Dallas Maverick. It would appear someone stole Shawn Bradley bicycle, a custom-belt Trek. But it has been found. Because, well, how you gonna resell that sumbitch?
Authorities wouldn't reveal a motive for the theft, but Bradley speculated that anybody who took it simply was looking for something they could pawn for quick cash.

They certainly weren't going to ride it - as it is about 50 percent larger than what a normal-sized person would ride. Trek never even included a serial number when it built the bike in 2005 because it is so unique.

"I'm guessing he just walked it away," [Sgt. Brian] Wright said of the suspect, who stands just 6-foot.
I'll try to better from here on out. And see what Sam's doing, besides combing his hair.

Mantis Bicycledrawing comments because there is no where else to gocrickets chirping over at the other placeSports! Heard the new owner about half a dozen times on the littlest of Ticketssaw Bettman on with Ralph and Razor and saw him invite Ralphie to join his show up in NYCI might have to root around on the intertubz to find thatIf this stale crust of a thread is all we have to place comments then so be it.

Is Feliz really ready to be a starter? He can only go so far with that fastball. Can he depend on his off-speed, does he trust it? Count me glad that Mike of the moustache is still here. CJ is asking for 20 million a year. I would have to think about 15, 20 is a non-starter. good luck with all that.

Hot Effing Stove Alert: Nathan to the Redshoes..Neffy to the rotation..JD trying to work out extension for the MVP..we now return to our previously scheduled nothingness of the newly remodeled Sportatorium.

A fucking week and The Observer can't post a new blog post? Ridiculous. I'm glad they could keep 10 people on to write about food, but not 1 person to write about sports. That makes absolutely zero sense to me.

The bike is definitely an eye cathcher and I do believe that the thief cannot hold it for too long. I'll keep visiting for more of your posts.

Bob, dear sir, not a post since Monday? What about the Star's recent downtick, The continued mess at PSU, SMU's great white RB, Ceej fidin to get the Hell outa here, I'd love some Sport radio rating news (not really)..hmmm NBA labor talk, the BBQ writer dude snubbing my ass and cutting up a quote like Edward Scissorhands, Tim Tebow singlehandedly setting the NFL back 50 years and running around like the Christian soldier he is while winning games..

Sincerely, Sports

Robert, I know there's still sticky Whitt residue all over the Sportatorium that we'd all like to see washed and sanitized, but you don't have to write a headline that's a grammatical headscratcher in tribute to him.

I kid, I kid. 'preciate ya, pal.

The Broken End:

Romo has the best day ever by a Cowboy QB, DeMarco Murray is the best Cowboy RB of all time after his first 4 games. Shoot fire boys, this thing is humming. Cowboys win two in a row, get the parade route set Big D! The Billionaires are getting exactly what they want against the Millionaires, a lost season..with possibility of some contraction of small market teams (Watch your asses Sactown, Charlotte, NOLA) Stars are still playing on. Ceej is in Japan trying to locate Anthony Bourdain to party (No shit, Ceej twittered it) The Rangers are not interested in Pujols, Fielder, Koufax or Mantle. The Cowboys from Stillwater just scored again in Lubbock.  TTU goes to Norman and shocks the wagonburners and then follows that up with losses to ISU, UT, and OSU.  Makes sense, I reckon, when Adam James is still playing for them and is actually one of their better pass catchermen. The PSU scandal has more angles that a hypotenuse quadrangle thingamajig.

Is Maddux gone to the Windy city? Methinks that's a yes. Hope I'm wrong.

My beloved Horns fell to a tough Tiger defense in Mizzou this weekend, and Fozzy will have a long rehab to get after prior to taking his talents to the pros.  RIP Foswhitt, just when they figured out how to utilize you..Damn.  To whomever thinks that maybe U of T had too much depth for young Mr. Gray to contend with down there on the 40 acres..we were having to play with the 4th string Rb (Hills) against Mizzou after the 6th play of the game.

TCU pulled off a stirring shocker of a game at BSU, take that with Boise with your stupid Blue Field.

Thanks to Bobbo for having the power turned on and the locks cut off the door over here.  We all appreciate the help sir. We'll leave the place in better shape than which we found it. One thing I'm quite sure we would all appreciate is if you could atleast throw something up on Friday morns...We will take it from there good buddy!

P.S. Just noticed you took the midget's name off The Sportatorium Header...Well played sir, well played.

What do the NBA players expect to accomplish decertifying? I can't see it ending well for them. They're already completely overpaid, even when looking at other sports that overpay their players. The Josh Howards of the league will be hurting sooner than later if there's no season.

We do need a Community post. They've churned out 3 excellent episodes here recently. The Pierce's dad episode was kinda meh, but Halloween, the timelines one, and Annie's move were all great. Best network comedy going right now, with only Happy Endings coming close. Modern Family remains solid but overrated.

Homeland is the best show on right now period. Watch it.

CJ has been really annoying to follow on Twitter lately. He's one more douchey brainfart away from me not caring.

Still don't care about the Stars.

Still don't care much about the Cowboys, to be honest. Murray has been awesome, but a win like this will get the mouthbreathers and parasitic media to start proclaiming them playoff contenders undeservingly. Buffalo is okay, but nothing to get all arrogant about beating. And someone tell the Cowboys they can play music at the stajium recorded after 1994 that isn't already used by the WWE.

I finally found this damn thing (the blog that is not the bike). Anyway thanks Bob for bring our little blog home back. Doesn't matter if Feliz is ready Cactus, JD and Nolan are ready for the great experiment to begin.

If all of y'all bother Robert as much as I've been doing, I'm relatively sure he'll throw something new up..

I don't know if my little Ranger heart thinks Neffy is ready for the starter job yet. I think CJ said instead of money he would take a sweet pair of nunchucks, and a years supply of Red Bull if the Angels would sign him.

" I really want to like it but I can't anymore. " ScruffyGYeah, I know what you mean. I liked Elf back in his ticket days. It was sort of surreal listening to Jewish Guy on the way to the Baptist church in the early Sunday mornings but it worked. I have liked the other tribesman on that crew long before he got involved with the Fan. I really do want to like them, but it just ain't working somehow. It is..ok. Not great, not god-awful mostly but it doesn't make me want to abandon Uncle Norm. For as much as Norm irritates the shit out of me when he gets on a subject and latches onto it like a bulldog on a bone he is still one of the sportsminds that gets my attention. Cowherd will NOT get a single passing nod. ZPS or XT or damn near anybody else before him.

Yeah, If Bob put up a link that just said.

"Sports happened today Somebody lost and somebody won" we would post there too. As it is The Mantis Bicycle will have to do. That sounds like a good band name.

Plus the Astros moving to be bunkmates in the AL West.

I may fire off some sports radio observations at some point. To sum it up, the Fail still is headscratchingly bad and Galloway is a blowhard. Even Josh & Elf have devolved to suckage.

On a related note - Robert, may want to have your IT guys a link to this bad boy back on the front of the D.O. website?

It's a bear to find in the menu bar.  I literally just stumbled upon it.

Maybe it's just the segments they roll during my normal lunch hour, but I haven't heard Josh & Elf do an in-depth sports segment in weeks. It's the most shallow, quick-hitty radio around. Nothing but recaps after recaps after recaps, countless lists taken straight off the Internet, and dated humor. I really want to like it but I can't anymore.

Rage sucks from trying too hard to give the appearance they aren't trying. New School is more abysmal than the Colts' season. And the Fan promos about the Cowboys are why I'm glad the Ticket no longer has to give Spagnola a second of air time.

TheRealDirtyP1

Well, actually, I read books on my 50" tv and use the kindles to put my beers on.
