We'll Take Baylor (+6) and the Accompanying Kick to the Adrenal Gland

Okay, let's do this.

And by "this" I mean let's make some moolah. The good ol' illegal fun way, shall we?

In 2008 I lost every penny of my virtual $10,000. In 2009 I wound up losing only $150. In 2010 I netted a cool $5,000.

By my math, that's a bottom line of ... oh, who's counting. Having fun, no?!

With September arrives another football season. Locally the Cowboys wrap up the preseason tonight in Miami, and North Texas opens another anonymous season in Denton against Florida International.

The big game of the week -- around here and nationally -- is the Top 5 clash between Oregon and LSU Saturday night at Cowboys Stadium. The ESPN College GameDay crew is in town, and Mavericks owner Mark Cuban will be in Arlington as guest prognosticator.

But the best game of the week is ...

Friday night in Waco, when Baylor and Robert Griffin host a TCU team gutted by the departure of half its 2010 starters including quarterback Andy Dalton. I know Tank Carder is still a badass linebacker, but last year's 45-10 demolition in Fort Worth has been an off-season rallying cry for the Bears and I expect the Frogs to have an emotional letdown in the wake of their Rose Bowl climax and in advance of moving to the Big East in 2012.

For the first time in a long time, I think Baylor is the play here.

I started with a mythical bankroll of $10,000, courtesy of bodog. First of all, because their site is easy to navigate. Second, because they're based in Costa Rica and have had minimal success tracking me down in the past.

I'll analyze games/wagers of local interest each weekend and make a wager every Thursday. With any luck, by Christmas it'll be iPads and iCandy for everyone.

STARTING BANKROLL: $10,000

CURRENT BANKROLL: $10,000

SEASON RECORD: 0-0

LAST WEEK: 0-0

THIS WEEK: Baylor +6 over TCU for $500.

This would be great if tcu didn't make a living on beating the nevadas and smu's of the college world then get to play slow ass maryland (great o-line not much else definately not speed) in a bowl.  Great they beat a good team a few times over the years but not every week so when other teams are coming in bloody there wearing last weeks jerseys since there still clean.

Let me see you play a team that doesn't define their schedule with fresno state. Oh no I think i pissed of unlv by calling them hill toppers by accident since there jerseys are so close. I wish any texas team the best and I hope people count how many great programs are here and the programs made better all over because of texas talent. Just don't hurt yourself when you fall back to your place. Next is boise if they can ever get by wyoming, neveda, fresno st., utah, utah state, san jose, and so many more all in one year. I think trinities schedule is harder I know the disd schedules are.

TCU fans its ok be proud but don't take it too far your just another baylor not yet a TTech or OK state even but close maybe. once you get used to the big E then you can tryout for whatever conference the varsity texas schools are in or take your place in the big 12.

Dude, this isn't really your article . . . is it?  This is just some sort of rough draft, right?  You didn't mean to hit 'send.'

Your bits suck.

Way to tag yourself, hack.

And Baylor/TCU is about as interesting as Josh & Elf reading lists off the internet. 3 vs 4 at the Death Star. By far the best game of the week.

the announcement will be that they'll carry baylor games. thus, dick whitt picking them. and then as soon as baylor realizes theyre on a sinking ship and leaves, dick whitt will then ignore and/or bash them.

Pachall could have a pretty good career at TCU. He's a 6-5 dual threat QB. Question is who will be better: TCU offense under a new starting QB or Baylor's defense under a new coordinator (Phil Bennett).

Sorry RW, I don't buy you getting a line of +6. The line opened at 6.5, and you sure as F didn't pound that line down to it's current 4.5. Don't forget to list your juice if your going to play this the entire season.
