Well, That Didn't Take Long: Welcome Back, Josh and Nelson

Josh Hamilton - Homer White sox.jpg
Yesterday I surmised that the Rangers' offense would suddenly improve with the returns of sluggers Josh Hamilton and Nelson Cruz. But not me -- nor even Texas -- thought it would happen that fast. Or that far.

Fresh off the disabled list, Hamilton homered in his first at-bat and Cruz added a dinger later as the Rangers and Alexi Ogando cruised past the Chicago White Sox, 4-0. It will mostly get lost amidst Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavs' rally, but all the sudden the Rangers are in line for a pretty good run of baseball.

With both of their biggest hitters back in the lineup and Julio Borbon scheduled to come off the DL this weekend, the offense should be back to full-speed just after Memorial Day. Closer Neftali Feliz seems to have shaken his quick, two-game funk and starting pitchers C.J. Wilson, Colby Lewis, Derek Holland, Matt Harrison and Ogando -- who went the distance last night -- all have pristine performances in their recent past.

And with two more games against the sub-.500 White Sox and then a three-game home series vs. a Royals team that they swept earlier this month, the Rangers' schedule is also set up for some serious momentum heading into June.

Of course, at some point Ron Washington has to find reliable pitching answers in the 7th and 8th innings. But, as they say in the Twitterverse, the Rangers are significantly trending.

In the primacy for agreement Texas Rangers their significant salt. We welcome back the afflicted men. The last moment is that furious attack make hurt the Richie Whitt does irrigate. The truth he that is dominated by the Gina does not mean he a diaper is in but more rudimentary the rugged German bombing was Oklahoma not he.

I'm still convinced it's triple fake alternate dimension evil Kergo.

Its probably Catatonic Kergo. A state he entered after witnessing Terry Francona pitch to 7 for 8 Cabrera with two outs, the winning run on second and first base open last night.

P.S. We would all be calling for Wash's head if he made a boneheaded decision like that one.

I used to enjoy reading the comments on this blog. The ripping of Richie was always comical and I always found it interesting all the new ways people would find to nut kick him.

Now its littered with Fantasy Baseball updates and fake kergos. What happened? I guess I will have to find other ways to waste time and get a good laugh at work.

I just ignore all the fantasy stuff, but I agree that all the fake kergos have ruined the best bit this blog has ever had. Why didnt the real kergo ever register with disqus? Does he even comment anymore? Was he ever even real or just our imaginations running wild?

Richie has been writing better lately, so it is hard to knock him there, but don't give up man. Things will turn around. New bits will pop up and Richie will do or say something douchey and people will go off.

methinks he still comments as Kerg-something sometimes..and I think he has a registered account too..different name..but some pretty well aimed RW nutkicks.

While agree the fake kergos suck and ruined the bit the FB updates are the only way we can nutkick right now.  Richie has actually been writing good stuff lately.  Im sure a new bit or nutkick will start soon enough.  Even sybil's beaver ran its course

he is hitting .194 with 2 runs and 2 rbi and 1 sb in the last 14, not really tearing it up right now you say.  There are about 18 better 1b right now

Yes this team is 100% better with those two back, and if anyone thought this slip was more than an aberration is a fool.  Our pitching is stellar and now that or 2 big bats are back maybe we can score a couple runs while our pitchers are throwing gems.

In SFBL, I now have the largest lead of they year yet at 19 games and 89 points, my goal to break 90 has been slowed but thats really all I have to shoot for now.  The Shitt's is in the process of being dismantled, Im not sure much will be left to help me when I get my contraction draft pick, I may just pass, but thats not a bad thing.  Scruff continues to bottom feed even below the Shitts without 6 of his players.  TRDP1 and JBS are looking ot make big strides, Im sure JBS is happy to have a hr hitter back.

You're on the clock Merkin. If you pass, I'm releasing the rest of his players and assigning him crap players.

I would recommend not releasing the rest of shitts team until all of our players have cleared waivers and been claimed so there is no confusion.

You bet your arse I'm happy to get a HR hitter back in the lineup..and come Friday..I'll get the Boomstick up in here...and Big Papi...coming to get you sir.  Tied for 6th with TKR as of this morning, would've liked to see Cruz's HR and 2 rbi count ..but it'll be ok.
