There's an Important Basketball Game in the Metroplex Tonight Played by the Dallas ... Cowboys

Everson vs. Irvin, hoops style
If the Mavs-Thunder somehow doesn't do it for you, how about some Colonial golf out in Fort Worth or even a basketball game played by football players?

After delivering a eulogy for his dear friend Ron Springs at his Carrollton funeral this morning, former Dallas Cowboy Everson Walls will help host a cool charity event tonight at Euless' Trinity High School:

Ballin' With The Boys III.

With the game dedicated to Springs, it's a good cause. And with a fascinating roster and an after-party hosted at Duke's in Bedford by none other than a band known as Martellus Bennett & The Moonshine Kids, should be an intriguing night.

Besides, with the lockout still lingering, you're not going to see your Cowboys anywhere else. When I was a kid there was nothing cooler than watching Drew Pearson dunk as a part of the old Dallas Hoopsters.

Who can you see tonight?

Dez Bryant #88

I thought Rads did a good job on last night's broadcast...keeping us up to date with the proceedings in Frisco.   Bet Buechelle doesn't mind having Felds, Jham and Cruz in his clubhouse.

Oh Yeah, I don't care about a bunch of Cowboys playing hoops, though I hope they raise some money for charity and stuff.

You must be bummed RW that the Mavs are playing tonight. We know how much you hate missing out on any reason to go to a Duke's. I kid, I kid...don't get you hair plugs in a knot.

Why isn't Romo going to be playing? I thought he loved playing basketball.

I was thoroughly annoyed with Tom Grieve last night, I couldnt believe he made it 7 innings  of calling the Royals the A's before he got corrected, then he proceeded to do it again.   Custard talk was very lewinish.  Scattershooting while wondering what happend to the fountains at Kaufman

Yes, his stories about eating custard were just riviting. I did like the Josh updates though.

The first time he mentioned it, he said they were in Round Rock! He never corrected that just a little later referred to Frisco. Nice man but he has to go!

Richie has even become too douchey for us.

I'll be at the Colonial watching all the pro golfers...wishing I could be one of them.

I think Rhads was too scared to correct him...or he didn't know who they were playing either.

Except for the part where was Rhadigan talking and thinking it was healthy until he was corrected. Why does Rhad have to scream at every play? When will he stop with horrible "Lets play ball ya'll"?

I think they're still there (some of them), just not as prominent with the outfield seats there too.

I hear the renovations helped that place out quite a bit. I was there years ago in the fountain era, and it felt like a glorified minor league park, especially when you get a lovely view of the interstate elevated beyond the left field wall.

Yes but with Rhad you are never sure if the updates are accurate. His grammar is correct on RBI vs RBI's but it is interesting that his broadcast partner says RBI's and I bet Nolan would be old school and say RBI's. I prefer RBI's because it is what I have heard all my life and somehow RBI sounds foreign. Kind of like Rhad.

How do you like the new "excuse me single" I guess he thinks he is Steve Martin. He is getting worse and needs to go!

Hey scruffman, KC is my hometown and I remember astroturf, fountains and I-70 visible from all parts, I was there the night Bo Jackson hit a ball into the 3rd level of the fountainsin right Center, the longest HR hit there.  I really do like the new look of the park but they really took away from fountains.  I have not got to see the new HD board or hall of fame there, maybe this summer when I go home, but isnt it amazing that those two park were opened in the early 70's and after a renovation have withstood the test of time
