A Commercial You Won't See During Super Bowl XLV. But Why Not?

Not that I'm endorsing cheating, but I would have zeeeeroooo problem with an AshleyMadison.com commercial during Super Bowl XLV at Cowboys Stadium February 6.

But, somehow, Fox does?

The ad, which has been rejected because Fox's standards and practices have deemed it unacceptable for air, isn't offensive or anything racier than a hot chick in a bikini.

Is it rejected because it features porn star Savanna Samson? Will Fox also ban alleged rapist Ben Roethlisberger or known foot fetish freak Rex Ryan from the broadcast as well?

The game is on Fox. Same network that airs Family Guy and stuff like this ...

Idiot, don't you understand that they want to be rejected? This way they get all the publicity via lazy sports bloggers and don't pay 3 mil for 30 seconds.

Your comparisons are crude and immature. We know family guy is a cartoon. Ashly Madison is a SALES PITCH that promotes adultery. One is comedy and satire, the other sakes promotion. If you don't understand the difference, you're part of the problem.

Dammit Richie, you're better than this. You have a degree in journalism. You know how the process works. The Super Bowl has the largest television audience of the year. Family Guy has such narrow appeal that it's been canceled more than once.

Bigger, broader appeal means safer content. Advertising is a fairly democratic enterprise. People generally like football violence, beer, and cleavage. People generally have a low opinion of companies that make a buck off tearing families apart.

This is an argument you cannot win, and I know you are smart enough to know that.

Readers 1, Richie 0. If I'm going to call the comment folks out for trolling, I have to be fair when you post an entry that is no different.

Heeeeeeeeeere's Captain Obvious!

would this qualify you as a 1%er RW? Because I think 99% of people understand why.

Different types of audiences, dingus. You're probably a member of Ashley Madison and claim to be 6 feet tall. I don't think they're going to have a problem selling that slot to a company that won't piss people off.

The bird is the word.

In that Ashley Madison video, was that a beaver in the chair? If so, anybody know where I contact this company? My coon hat is getting a bit dank. I need me a new one and that beaver would work mighty fine.

Good to hear I'm not the only one that hates having to see this then hear about it. I predict this topic will be rolled out in the 5'oclock hour. He always does it to me on my drive home.

Every man reaches a point in his life where he has to choose whether or not to quote Mencia.

You made the wrong choice.

I only caught the first hour and a half of the show, was it rolled out on your drive home?

The blog stories are basically part of his show prep it seems like, but I can't really blame him. 5 hours is a long time. but yeah I switch the radio when it happens too.
