• I like the idea of Hamilton at 1B but don't think it's possible this late in the year. Maybe he can transition in the offseason. As good as Francoeur has been I wish he could play 1B. Is it kind of funny two of the positions (1B, C) the Rangers thought they had great young depth at are turning out to be major needs? I do not feel comfortable at all about either heading into next season and yes maybe trying Hamilton at 1B can at least address one need. The fact the Rangers took a catcher, Kellin Deglan, with one of their two 1st round picks may be telling they don't feel good about the current catching depth either. Oh and GOOOO RANGERS 2010 AL WEST CHAMPS!!!

• @Johnson Country I think K Scott does Sports Updates/Tickers whatever they're called in the morning for ESPN. I agree he is not bad and deserves another chance hosting. He "gets" The Ticket formula and if given a good co-host could have a pretty decent show I think.

• What the Hell ever happened to Kevin Scott? I would love to hear him back on the air in DFW. And yes Richie, I imagine Ted Williams head is very happy about the Rangers. Keep Raging!

• Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket remains at the top of the sports talk heap. Weekdays from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. the station averaged an 8.1 share, best of any station in the market. That's up from 7.4 in August 2009. ESPN 103.3 FM averaged a 3.5 share last month, up from 3.1 a year ago. 105.3 FM The Fan averaged a 2.5 share, down from a 2.8 last August. The Ticket led every hour from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., with The Fan finishing second from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Rangers baseball on The Fan dominated the post-7 p.m. ratings but offered no appreciable pop to the daytime numbers. Highest-rated hour was The Ticket's Dunham and Miller from 7-8 a.m., which posted an 11.5 share, and it was the only hour that topped 100,000 listeners stopping by. Coincidentally, 7-8 a.m. was ESPN's top hour when Mike and Mike attracted a 5.5 share. The Fan's top hour was at 11 a.m., when Richie Whitt and Greg Williams posted a 3.2.

• Rooster's first post: win! Rooster's second post: fail! I've turned the corner on Stumbledoofus. I had some respect in that little pocket reserved for whatever in my front, right jeans pocket, but after being told that we observers do not have the expertise to judge whether or not a field goal is good, I flushed it with my daily diarrhea. I will never say his Christian name again. From now on he, and the president are Stumbledoofus.

• Any guesses to what Richie means when he says: "Not saying it's necessarily better radio these days, but from a personal standpoint it's funner - that's right, funner - radio. Stay tuned." Clearly he's hinting at something, but what? A format change to something "fun" talk/less sportsy? I wouldn't think so with the Cowboys, Rangers, and Nascar signed on. Adding more "fun" type personalities to the station with less emphasis on X's and O's? But the lineup currently pretty much tries to cop the Ticket formula (not saying that's a bad thing, in fact I think it's needed if they expect to compete). Or maybe it's just a hint that an announcement is coming soon Fan related and "funner" isn't a clue to anything. Well, I'll speculate since I'm bored: Adding Chris Arnold to the lineup? Makes sense with him being out of K104 and the success he had with The Ticket during the Bruce Gilbert era. Can talk sports and guy talk, movie watching, barbecuing, etc. Big Dick Hunter? Big Dick has ties to the old format and regime at 105.3 and is familiar with sports and guy talk. I think was at The Ticket when Bruce Gilbert was? (Hot Spot producer maybe?) Close ties to Greggo and Richie, seems like a possibility. Would Pugs tag along? (I hope not, Pugs and Kelly were big whips equally IMO). I guess Big Dick would have to end his tired NFL boycott and I'm sure would for a nice cushy job at the Fan. Downside: Potential for major beatdown UFC talk. Wally Lynn or Mike Fisher or blah blah blah? Seem like retreads but honestly anything is better than the G-Turds Gavin and Gregg. Jagger and Barsky can't compete with the Musers and the Fan may as well play a test pattern signal during those hours. Truth is, in a city where Ben and Skin are given chance after chance to succeed anybody is a possibility. Newy and Arnie have potential but are missing something. Big thumbs up to RAGE. Greggo is GREATNESS BRUUUTHA, Richie is better than people give him credit even if I shake my head whenever he goes off on his music preferences, Sybil is also underrated, Lacey is hot, but Armen is super spare and needs to drop the damn horn sounder and listen up on The Ticket to understand The Art of the Drop (take mental notes from the stylings of Big Strong Jeremy and Grubes).

That's Kings of Leon, in case you were unawares. ;) Dunno what your tastes are, but those kids have been touring for basically the past 7 years and putting out records all the while. • @ Arby Tron, well Rooster isn't a fan but I am. Not only of your ratings, but also your kick ass 80's film/video game and your tasty roast beef sandwiches made from Juarez' finest beef. As I said months ago the Cowboys are not going anywhere this year. A questionable O-line + a difficult schedule (at least to all appearances) = 9=7-7 season. At this point I'm thinking 7-9 might be closer. Sad because I love my boys and baseball ranks up there with paint drying, but it is the Ranger's year.

• Glad to be someone who is obsessed with radio ratings. Geez. Rangers have taken a fantastic meal and excellent desert and proceeded to puke on the plate. Hard to get enthused and excited about the playoffs when they hit like some Pony league team. Greggo adds the right balance of intellect, randomness, and xenophobia. Richie keeps the show interesting by being inflammatory. Inflammatory like his hemorrhoids. Deep throat that banana, Richie! • Very bland Whitts End, where are the politics, The Ticket, the greggo/russ martin. NOt much to argue this week. As asked earlier this week, can you identify for us what name ernie posted on in here. I noticed a couple have not been here this week. Peace be with the daughters and family and friends. Cowboys 0-3, Chiefs 3-0 put that in your pipe and smoke it and parlay it.

• Wade deserved a swift, wind-influenced kick to the groin for his whiny little comments. I was in Denver when he got run out of town there, can't say this is any different this go-round. Ranger meh-ness is starting to concern me. This is the week they need to be getting red-hot. Hambone at first isn't a bad idea if he can pick, and it keeps MurphMurph a starter. But a guy playing a position for the first time at this time of the season? Ballsy and possibly insane. I'm all for The Fail doing well midday. But drive times are gawd-awful. Chumbawumba-comeback-tour awful. Pittsburgh Pirates awful. Sybil hyper with hiccups and laughing uncontrollably awful. Nobody is going to make a dent in the Musers, but I'd like an alternative to Mike and Mike when the Courage Boys are musing on break. And Hardline is ripe for the picking given their cruise-control status. Wanker and Doucebagg are not the answer. Blockbuster is about 3 years overdue to file. Netflix, Red Box, and streaming services render them useless. Cowboys lose. Chaos ensues. Mucho entertainment from the mouthbreathing pigskin-addicts who can't handle it.
