• @ sirdouglas5 Well I love Fort Worth, but we need to be honest that Dallas is the cultural and economic engine of this market and the Cowboys showed up in 1960 and selected Dallas as their namesake because of Dallas. The Rangers have always played up the Texas angle (meaning North Texas) and while the Cowboys play their name at an international level Dallas is a part of that name. I'm not bagging on Fort Worth as I said it is a great town, but it is regional town. Dallas is known internationally and is rated as a Beta Class World City by the GaWC; Globalization and World Cities Study Group and Network based at the geography department of Loughborough University, United Kingdom. That places Dallas in the company of cities like Washington, Melbourne, Barcelona, San Francisco, New Delhi, Berlin, Cairo, Munich, Kiev, Houston, Guangzhou and Rio de Janeiro. This is not my native Dallas mouth speaking, it is a fact. For further reading look up the GaWC on Wikipedia. That's why the parade should be in Dallas the same reason the Giants and Jets throw parades in New York and not in New Jersey. The Lion's Share of the revenue for both the Cowboys and the Rangers comes from people that identify more closely with Dallas. Be honest; if you were in London or Berlin or Paris and the subject of your home came up you might say Fort Worth the first time, but after a while you would just say something like, I'm from Fort Worth a city just to the west of Dallas. I know this because when I was in the Army I was deployed along with another North Texan and he was from Fort Worth and when Hungarians or Germans or Italians or Austrians or anyone we met would ask, "So where are you from" I would say Dallas and they would say oh yeah "Dallas Cowboys" or "hey that's where all the Cowboys are" or if they wanted to be a dick they would say "hey didn't your people kill JFK." When my buddy would say Fort Worth, they would just stare blankly at them. Face it for better (Cowboys) or for worse (JFK) Dallas is an internationally renowned city and Fort Worth is virtually unknown. Still hang in there because Van Cliburn or the Bass Performance Hall may put Fort Worth on the map yet, at least with fans of pianist and opera houses.

• Again the Fan is trying the Ticket formula, but considering Tom Leppart has already been on the Ticket 2 or 3 times this was not a huge get. As far as Richie and Greggo I thought Wally Lyn and Greggo a much better pair. I am amazed at the collection of douche bag talent the Fan has collected led by Gavin and Richie followed by Jaggar, Barsky, and Gregg. I have never seen a collection of Chris Chris's in one place in my life. But When Greggo was with Wally I kept it was very listenable. The parades should happen at Six Flags. It would be fitting.

• fistofsouth: I guess I left myself open for that. I concede that more than half of the FW-D population is closer to Dallas. Of course we don't know the breakdown on where the Rangers/Cowboys ticket buyers come from. Since both teams play in Tarrant County it might be more from there. Most likely the numbers would favor Dallas, but my point is that a significant portion of those teams' fan base is in Tarrant County and beyond and Jones and the unnamed Ranger owner owe a lot to Arlington for stepping up, however unwise financially the moves were. Why should a parade be in Dallas? Because, statistically, a few more fans live closer to Dallas? Because Dallas made a commitment to both of those teams? I don't think so.

I guess you are saying that half of the fans of those teams are in Fort Worth and/or Tarrant County? For a moment we will ignore the fact that both teams (particularly the Cowboys) have numerous fans outside of the Metroplex. Then we'll also pretend that Collin County does not exist and is not closer to Dallas than Fort Worth and that Denton County does not exist and that if it did it would not have higher population density in the eastern portion of the county, which again, is closer to Dallas than Fort Worth. After making all of those incorrect assumptions we still need to overcome the following facts: Tarrant County Population:1,717,435. Dallas County Population: 2,492,850. Now go get your fucking shine box.

You two are quite good when, one, you focus on sports and not generic Douchie von Tardenburg (aka Chris Chris) talk, and when you ignore the edict to listen to the mouthbreathers and their calls and texts. I pray to the Flying Spaghetti Monster and his (her?) Spaghetti-O offspring that The Fail will realize that Gavin and Gregg are no better than playing a test tone and move you guys to evening drive. As much as I enjoy the chance to ignore when Dan's stupidity takes over, I'd like to ignore "Remember when?" talk on the Hardline more.
