• Kergo, all the old guys are gone. Bobby Orr had bad knees. Sorry, he didn't have modern orthopedic surgery back then. Blake retired last week too. Can you name any of the young ones out there now? • Book it. Stars trade Mike Ribeiro for Sheldon Souray which opens up room to sign Madano to a 1 year deal where he plays on the 3rd line. If this doesn't happen there's a noose hanging from the rafters in the AAC with Hicks' name on it. A damn shame if he can't retire a Star because Tom Hicks terrible money management.

• If he can still play and has the desire, then he should come back. The whole "leaving at your peak" is stupid. You can only play professional sports (and make that kind of money) for a finite period and then you've got the rest of your life. I wouldn't blame Mo or Favre or Jamie Moyer or anyone else if they wanted to play as long as they can. That said, I can see Modano starting the season and then, if the Stars suck, retiring midway through the season.

• If he wants to come back again that is fine by me. He wasn't bitching about his role. He wasn't making obscene demands on the team. He wasn't a liability on the ice. Sure, he doesn't have the same wheels he did back in the day, but he is still the best player on the ice on a lot of shifts.

• RW, That is the first time he leaned anyway so far in any direction. I'm sure it will be his evaluation of what Newey does as GM in the offseason cause of major defensive needs. I don't think age has anything to do with possible retirement. Mo is a physically gifted speciman with a few injuries in his career but none considering altering. I had the pleasure of playing golf once with him in a Stars Foundation tourney and was amazed at his offseason condition. I'm sure the new wife has added a few years to him as well. As for True Blood, I was so close to bailing out half way through last season...but bring in Nazi hunting flashbacks and I am addicted again. Stay hard RW and give Greggo a hug for me.

• Who cares if he's coming back or not? They suck with him and/or without him. He has minimal impact in the team. It's irrelevant at this point. He needs to just work at his restaurant and do halftime studio work.

• He ended on a high even though he wasn't sure he was coming back, because the media and the team decided to capitalize on it. This is no Brett Favre situation. (And even if it were - he's got every right as an athlete to come back if he wants to and if the team wants him, if he can still fulfill a role.)
