• I miss the Astros and Pirates. Whoa is me. Why did the Angels let Vlad go and how did we get him if we're so financially strapped? Good job front office.

• What do you know, back to 4.5 and we got an epic performance out of the deal. Still nothing to write home about, but Vlad is my hero.

• Richie's point on skipping Lewis makes sense: Why bench your best SP this season vs your main division rival, and add to that a guy making his MLB debut under difficult circumstances. Norm was talking about this guy and he's a much better prospect than he may seem at his age because of the law setback. Hope he has something... Why blame DO for the game however? Feldman has been pure crap this year after signing his extension and deserves some big time criticism. DO's been a bargain and one of the best relievers in the game this season, even after yesterday his ERA is only 1.51.

• Got an update from Cali: BIG Mike is having his pregame meal of vasool, antipasto (the kind that ferments for two weeks and is made out of all the leftovers in the fridge!), breads, chicken parm and a regular "wilted salad". He's warshing (Texas speak) it down with a gallon of that ole, fine Bud. He's not even worried about managing the game (or the little red shoe Rangers!), no, folks he's worried about the after game spread and if he can get some fresh made pasta with maybe a white wine sauce, or some of that spicy Italian sausage. Maybe some fresh basil with that? Maybe freshly grated parm or romano? MMMMMMM! Maybe penne with a butter creme' sauce? Maybe something akin to an Evans Pizza, with the extra grease, you know, like the Evans from Cape Cod-hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Why as Italian American's are we so talented in the kitchen? How about manicotti? Priazzo? I'm going to Joe's or Campisis's.

• Dear Everyone, See what "da baw do" when they play someone good. The Angels aren't afraid of them at all! At one point I saw BIG Mike in the dugout eating a bid o' hoagie, and the shit was dripping down his hairing, Neopolitan bear arms....and he was more concerned with eating than watching the game. Do you think BIG Mike is worried? Hells no. Shit, he'd be "poundin' that ole Budweiser boys" if he could-inthe dugout. It's just a look......the gaze of a heavy champion. The look of an Italian guy when he knows he's got you beat. Welp, training camp starts soon.

• Everyone just relax. That's how baseball go. Oliver has had a miraculous first half but last night is more what he's been like the past few years. If the Rangers win the next two, we're fine.

• The two good strong p1's just above my comment make compelling arguments..and Rooster actually brought his fastball. It's not even July, I thought other than Oliver sparing everyone to death..last night was a pretty damn good effort..I did hit the hay after MY grounded out to end the 8th though. Beltre was generally considered to be the better prospect in relation to him and Ogando..and if that holds true, effin a sweet for our playoff hopes this year, cause Ogando has been freaking awesome thus far.

• Beltre may have a very good outing. He is pitching well. There are also no scouting reports of substance on him. As well as no film and no tendencies. He may just sneak by with a win.

• IT'S STILL JUNE AND THIS SERIES IS AGAINST A DIVISION RIVAL ON THE ROAD. Calm down and breathe slowly. We have a long way to go. There is no such thing as an important series in June. The play in June has never been an issue with this club.

• I have a question, Richie... As a paid blogger for Village Voice media, do you think it's professional to just steal images off of Google images for your articles? I understand it if it's your personal blog, where you call out Josh Hamilton for being a hypocrite then go back to nut-hugging him when the Rangers are doing good again, but isn't this considered "professional journalism", where you have to follow rules like "not stealing other people's stuff" and fork over a couple bucks to iStock or whatever for pictures you have the right to post? That's my only complaint about the Sportatorium. That, and if sports writing was Gianni Versace , you're Andrew Cunanan. But I don't think it's against the law to be a shitty writer, so I'll let that one slide.

• Harden, Holland AND Feldman. He cant get out of the 6th inning and has been awful in his last several starts. Now leading the team in losses with 7. What's happened to this guy?

• not a bad loss, but a loss none the less. This was on the players Warsh didnt cost them this one. Nelly should have tagged and whudathunk hambone and Vlad up with bases loaded = 1 run. Oh well, lets move on to tonight. I say Beltre makes it through the lineup twice with no issues, but the third time through is where they will get to him

• Omar Beltre is money. I expect success.
