• Chris Young and Adrian Gonzalez should never have been traded, but Young is propped up by his pitcher friendly park. Yeah, Adrian Gonzalez as a throw-in really hurts and is amongst JD's worst moments. But I'd give the advantage to John Danks being the worst trade JD has made, as McCarthy can't even make the roster, is now hurt again, and has been an absolute bust since Day 1. And to make matters worse, JD's rationale for that trade was that he felt McCarthy was MLB ready and Danks wasn't, something the White Sox apparently didn't agree with since they quickly inserted him into their rotation and now have a legitimate front of the rotation southpaw. But as pointed out, let's not forget the great trade with the Braves that gave us Feliz and Andrus (and Salty and Harrison). And don't forget the Francisco Cordero to Milwaukee trade that gave us Nelson Cruz (as a throw-in to the main haul, Carlos Lee). JD's had some great drafts and the scouting has greatly improved since he's taken over, especially in Latin America. Hopefully Nolan can put Hicks in a headlock, hand the keys over to Greenberg or someone who gives a flip, and along with JD can keep the future bright. Yes, the season's been a disappointment so far but it's only April and the AL West in general has been weak. Consider the positives - Nellie and Vlad look incredible, CJ and Lewis have been nice surprises and it's fair to think Harden and Feldman will turn things around. Elvis has a near .400 OBP and is leading off. Hammy and Michael Young are starting to turn it around. Kinsler will be back soon, and it wouldn't be hard for Smoak to be an upgrade over K-ris Davis. Scheppers and Holland are doing great in the minors and could be a huge boost to the team soon enough.

• I remember Eric Nadel was complimenting Bascik on Norm's show because Bascik brought something to the table as far as baseball knowledge goes. Bascik thanked Eric while Normie layed out on the whole subject with a big fat plate of empty air.

• I'm not defending JD, I was only responding to the names you threw out. And you're right, Young and Gonzales for Eaton should never have happened. Volquez for Hamilton thus far? Advantage JD. But, he raped Atlanta and Boston a couple of years ago with the Gagne and Tex trades. He's had a good run with signing low risk guys and getting decent results. Harden may be the exception, too early to tell just yet for sure.

• Dear Scotts Merkin, You must be new to the area....anyone that has been in the area more than 10 years knows that Dallas and it's northern suburbs are the one's that finance this team. Hence, when the super bowl or nba all star game comes to town, they come to Dallas, not to Fort Worth or Arlington, where shit goes to die! PS-You get people from Arlington, Pantego and HEB showing up at the game with neck tattoo's, mullets and cheap ball caps-the next thing you know, the ATF is out in full force. The ONLY reason why those teams are in that burg/area is because the land is cheap! Shit, it flooded when I pee'd after a Rangers game last week. Hey s-head, it's easier to take land from a toothless f*ck than from someone who can afford a lawyer. Are you alive? • I dont get why people bag on the Rangers being in arlington. First off, they have been there for 30 something years, its not like they up and left fucking Frisco or Dallas. Secondly, I think it is nicely situated between the two major cities in the Metro, and equal distance drive for dallasites and ft worthians alike. And Kergo, you can park for $9 bucks most nights and $5 on Fridays in any lot. then again maybe your fat northeastern ass needs the half mile walk.

A crappy AAA baseball team! Please bring a national league team to downtown Dallas and I'm there. So, expect 8,000 at the temple from here on out.
