Chalk One Up for Karma: Tiger Woods Overshadowed by Phil-Good Story

See, that's what I'm talking about. Why give Tiger an exaggerated ovation when you can cheer for someone who overcomes adversity that isn't self-inflicted? Someone who doesn't made repetitive, horrible, corrupt choices. Someone whose wife and mother are dealing with breast cancer. Someone like Phil Mickelson.

When Mickelson won The Masters Sunday afternoon, he walked off the 18th green, hugged wife Amy and officially became the anti-Tiger. And my favorite golfer. The image of Tiger finishing fourth was as fresh as the details of him hugging not his wife, but his 17 mistresses.

While Mickelson was showing husbands - and golfers, didja see his shot on 13? - across America how it's done, Tiger was breaking par but also his promises. He and Dallas-based coach Hank Haney vowed that he was going to be more reserved, more respectful of golf.

After an errant tee shot on Saturday, Tiger blurted out "Tiger Woods, you suck! ... God dammit!" Then yesterday he offered a "Jesus Christ!" after a yanked drive.

So confusing. I thought he was going to get back to his religious roots and have Buddha on his bag? And, okay, even if he gets mad, isn't his outburst akin to a Christian stubbing his toe and yelling "Buddha!!"

Seriously, after his first tournament back the only thing different about Tiger was the fact that he sometimes wore sunglasses. And that, my friends, is why you should cheer for the good guys like Phil Mickelson.

It's amazing to me that Woods discovered a method to cheat on such an attractive lady like his wife, get away with it for years, get caught, come back to golf a few months later, and now it is as if everyone has forgotten about it it seems.
More than six million people exist on our globe, 3/4 have read the new testament. One chap talking in one single country, began this, with just word of mouth. Bloggers have the technology with which to reach all of those people, all this at your fingertips, you can change anything, go for it bad boys!!!!!!

why is everyone making a big deal about "stealing" content and style in media circles? it has happened forever. hell, the hardline is one big rip-off of Howard Stern. this is a stupid, childish argument. PS - i like craig miller a lot but he can be such a little bitch at times and whats worse is that no one else on the morning broadcast has the stones to step up to him. although about 2 weeks ago he and gordon did get into it but it was at about 6:30AM...way before most peeps are listening.

Same old Tiger. I don't care what he said in those previous photo-ops. He hasn't changed a bit. His on the course behavior is going to be just like it was before. The only question is whether he starts chasing tail the way he did before. When he first won the Masters and lapped everybody I was glad to see him do it. The young black man slammed them at this most prestigious of locations. Somewhere I could hear Big Jim Jack groaning in pain. It was delicious. Then I saw him at the Byron and Colonial. I saw the petulant child that got frustrated with the wind that was beyond his control. From that point on I rooted against him. He was just another WATB golfer that hits shit when he makes a bad play. At some point in our lives we have to gain the maturity to not holler out curse words every time we lose to random chaos and our own failings. You take it like a man. Isn't that the phrase? I like the country version better. You hunch up like an old bull in the north wind and you take it. Phil did with his mom AND wife fighting off the Big C. I don't remember him shying away from cameras or not talking about this situation, hell he got accosted by Scoops and was obliging. I can't imagine Scoops even getting close enough to Tiger to call him Champ, much less to ask a crazy assed question. Yep, I was glad to see Lefty win and glad to see Tiger in the bunker. I openly root for Tiger fail.
